ACTRESS KHAREEMA IN SECRET LOVE WITH FOOTBALLER

Ghanaian actress Khareema Aguiar has finally been caught in a love web with 22-year-old Canada-based Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie, though she is struggling to keep the identity of her lover under the veil of secrecy.

The ‘Checkmate’ actress has refused to clear the air by confirming or denying her love relationship with Gershon, pleading that her career should be talked about and not her love life.

However, the footballer lover boy has already gone public saying their relationship is waxing strong by the day.

The gentleman, who plays for White Caps in Vancouver Canada, was quoted to have confirmed their relationship and spoken to two different TV stations in Accra on the issue when he visited Ghana during the Christmas holidays.

“My girl is the reason I’m here. She is an actress,” he reportedly told Nana Aba Anamoah on the Divas Show on TV3 without mentioning the name of the actress in question.

He however mentioned the actress’ name on GhOne’s E-Talk show when he said, “I have only one favourite actress, who is my girlfriend. In fact, we are dating seriously and she is Khareema Aguiar.”
He made the revelation when Amanda Jissih who hosted the programme asked him who his favourite actress and actor were.

However, when NEWS-ONE reached Kkareema over the revelation, this was her response: “I am in school now wanting to be a lawyer soon and my upcoming TV show to hit the TV screens is what I will like to talk about now. I will appreciate if you talk about my TV show.”

Some recent photos of her and the footballer making the rounds including those she posted on social networks; Instagram and WhatsApp, to a large extent, give an impression that they are indeed lovebirds.

One of the photos captured the two in bed-like position, a posture which mere friends would hardly assume.

But Khareema has neither confirmed nor denied their relationship.

JOHN DUMELO SETS TO PRODUCE 4 MOVIES FOR 2014

Ghanaian celebrated movie star, John Dumelo, has revealed that he has lots of vision, plans and more expectations for the year 2014. One of the most important of all is, joining the tall list of West-African stars shooting their own movies.

In a chat with him, he stated that he has plans of producing his own movies this year, under his production house named ‘John Dumelo Studios.’ He disclosed that directing and producing good films is not an easy thing so people should not just rush into making films simply because others are doing so.

He is currently paying more premium on pre-production level, together before he think of shooting his movie; something most Ghanaian filmmakers take for granted. He added “all this while, I’ve been putting lots of things in place in other to move into full flight, so this year, I shall be producing 4 movies under my own production.”

“It’s not just about shooting but the fact that one need to get the right script, right logistics, right environment , locations, cast, etc. and all this should be accurately done at pre-production before one thinks of going on set to shoot” John gave to understanding.

As to whether John Dumelo would be directing his own movies, as Van Vicker does with his own movies, he stated that he’s not psychologically ready to direct his own films because directing takes lots of work.

As one character who believes in confronting his fears other than running away from them, John is taking directing classes at his own film school in order to equip himself with the needed skills and know-how to direct movies.

MY MUSICAL SUCCESS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO THE FLESH - FUSE ODG

Many musicians worldwide have had to go through several challenges in their career before making it to mainstream and perhaps becoming successful but same cannot be said of Ghanaian UK based musician and pioneer of the This Is New Africa #TINA movement Richard Abeona known widely as Fuse ODG who’s achievements are beyond his own imagination. A feat many would wish to achieve.

The world’s attention was drawn to Fuse ODG, a member of the “Off Da Ground Movement” after the release of his hit single Azonto and has since then not slept on this great song writer.

In an interview with NY DJ on Homestretch Bumper to Bumper on Kapital Radio in Kumasi, Fuse ODG stated he often got lost in his own thoughts anytime he looked back at the successes and what the future holds for him.

“There’s no way I could have come this way without my creator. God is involved in everything we have achieved. God has been so merciful to us and continues to grant us all the desires of our heart. My successes in terms of my hit singles don’t not make sense to the flesh. There is a spiritual force behind us which is God….. Of course, I may say I work hard but that does not make up. I just don’t even understand”

Fuse ODG for the past 2 years has been nominated and won several awards and recognitions worldwide. He scored one of the greatest feats as for the first time Antenna charted in the UK and marked the highest charting Afrobeats tune till now.

He was also the first African act to ever perform at the Music of Black Origin Awards MOBO where he won the MOBO award for Best African Act, won several awards at the urban music awards in the UK and also an award at the Ghana Music Awards.

Fuse ODG described 2013 as his craziest year yet in his musical year.

SOME GHANAIAN MUSICIANS WHO TOOK OVER THE INDUSTRY BUT DIDN’T REIGN FOR LONG

Entertainment or music business in Ghana is the hardest job ever, there is not much business to it. Many musicians mostly regret their time wasted and lives for choosing the career path. All one can achieve in Ghana music business is popularity and probably lots of girls.

Reggie Rockstone himself advised young musicians to make hay whilst the sun shine. It’s almost impossible to be a consistent artist in Ghana.

Many musicians either give up or retire after years of trying to bringing hits. Perfect example is Ofori Amponsah, K.K. Fosu, Kofi Nti and more who were once great artists but have retired or can’t be seen.

These are the 10 Ghanaian musicians who made great impact with their songs, made one or two hits and that was just it. Let’s take a walk.

BRADEZ: Bradez started early and they had a couple of hit songs like 419, Simple, Flashe, during their time, they destroyed mics as the youngest artists to attain such success in their music career. Okyeame Kwame being their elder brother also boosted their career. Just when they had their most successful single, ‘SIMPLE’, Sarkodie came through to give them a run for their money. Since then Sarkodie is all you hear, you can barely hear of them. Good thing, they had plan b, thus school, Stone is currently a Biochemist and seldom do freestyles and release songs.

DR. CRYME: He became an overnight celebrity and a ladies man instantly after his 2 singles ‘Kill Me Shy’ and ‘Mene Woaa’ became a hit. Since then almost all his songs sounded the same. He hasn’t released any huge hit since then.

NANA BOROO: Nana Boroo released one of the biggest songs in Ghana, ‘Aha Ye De’ which got him lots of deals and got him lots of performances worldwide. Since then, we never heard anything big from the artist. He turned to business and seemed more concentrated there. He tried to fake his death for prominence.

ASEM: Asem changed the phase of Ghana music from Hiplife to Rap/Crunk (as they called it that time). He and his team were the talk of the town. He dined and worked with kings. He quit the team he grew with, since, him and his team has fallen apart, none of them are winning.

STAY JAY: He came through with Shashee Wowo, which was a huge hit, he remixed it with Tiffany which also performed massive. Since then fans sourced that Stay Jay’s songs were a bit one way, it’s always talking about girls who like money. He hasn’t made any huge hit songs since as much as he has released lots of potential hit songs. It doesn’t take long for Ghanaians to be fed up with you, I guess.

OPANKA: He came through with freestyles, most of his freestyles were hits, his biggest freestyle was the one he did on Bradez’ ‘Simple’ beat. He became a prominent person in Ghana music until he decided to release real singles. Most of them did well, and most of them failed. I guess that was the end of Opanka’s hay days.

YAA PONO: Just like Opanka, Yaa Pono came through as the freestyle king, freestyling with the likes of Sarkodie and Guru. Because he couldn’t come through with commercially successful songs, his career is still hanging, he seems a bit more relaxed now, doing no releases.

LYNX ENTERTAINMENT: No other group/team took over Ghana music like Lynx Entertainment, they were a strong force until money separated them. Their unity was admired, they brought out good songs in their days but it didn’t last. The group released songs like Wengeze by Eazzy, Fire by OJ Blaq, Runaway by Irene Logan, When I Get You by Richie, You Say Weytin by Ziggi and more song which were successful countrywide.

RICHIE MENSAH: He came through with his different and great production skills. He virtually gave Appietus who was the then biggest producer a run for his money. He produced, sang and performed greatly but didn’t last. Till date he still release singles which fails to perform on chats. I guess he need to switch his style or something.

PRAYE: They took the industry by storm straight after winning the Nescafe African Revelation. They released lots of great singles like Jacket, Shoddy and more songs which performed well including their all time biggest song in Ghana music history ‘Angelina’ which has been rumored to have sold more than 300,000 copies. Things fell apart when one member of the group called it quits. Since then it’s been all struggle.

5 FIVE: All the way from Adabrak they added spice to the music scene with their single ‘Beautiful Girls’, the remix also scored big. The went on to release bigger singles like Bossu Kena and their all time biggest hit song ‘Move Back (Mugye Baya)’. Label change and lots of discrepancies stalled the group’s group. Today it’s like they never existed. Whose fault is that?

PROMZY AFRIKA BECOMES A PREACHER

Very unusual of him, rapper and singer Promzy, who has changed his name to Promzy Afrika, has now taken to doing God’s work in addition to his hiplife music.

He has, for the past few weeks, dedicated his life to winning souls for Christ as he has been preaching the word of God to his fan base and others who care to listen.

What is not clear is whether it is something he always does and the public was not aware of or it is a recent calling to give his life to Christ.

But whatever it is, the tattoo-loving musician confirmed his relationship with God on Facebook when he took to the platform on Monday to preach to his fan base to be steadfast in the Lord in whatever situation they found themselves.

“What is happening in your family or how do you get out of your family mess? Is it curses, stealing, lies, fornication, adultery, alcohol, smoking, drugs, poverty, madness, pre-mature death, sickness, childlessness etc, just remember that God can turn your scars into stars because his grace is enough to see you through,” Promzy Afrika preached on the social platform.

In December, Promzy released a song for Christians to celebrate the Christmas festivity with; that was when he started giving hints about his relationship with Christ.
