CONFIRMED: BIG BROTHER AFRICA 'HOTSHOTS' SET TO START ON OCTOBER 5

After several days of searching for a new house and a new date to kick start the continent's biggest TV reality show, M-Net and Endemol SA are delighted to confirm that a new Big Brother house has been found in Johannesburg, South Africa following the devastating fire that demolished the original house on 2 September.

The search was concluded after exploring all possible options both locally and internationally, for a suitable venue to produce the 9th season of Africa’s biggest reality show.

M-Net and Endemol SA are pleased to announce that Big Brother Hotshots will officially launch on Sunday 5 October AT 19:00 CAT. As they countdown to the launch, fans across the continent can look forward to some pleasant surprises in true Biggie fashion.

The producers wish to thank fans far and wide for all the patience and continuous support over the past few days.

I WILL SUE AKOO NANA FOR SAYING HE FLRITS WITH MY WIFE – AND HERE COMES AKOO NANA’S REPLY

Reports that reached NEWS-ONE at press time Thursday said gospel musician Superintendent Kofi Sarpong and ace stand-up comedian DBK have contacted their respective lawyers and instructed that sensational musician Akoo Nana be dragged to court.

The two are vexed over public comments by Akoo Nana that he was flirting with their wives.

Akoo, in his recent freestyle single, ‘Yawa’, had bragged that the lovers and spouses of Ghanaian musicians cannot be trusted because a good number of them are making advances at him.

Akoo specifically mentioned the names of Kofi Sarpong and DKB as some of the persons whose ‘women’ are making amorous advances at him.

DKB was the first to state publicly that he finds Akoo Nana’s song to be offensive and that his lawyers would soon take up the matter.

“I’m disappointed in Akoo Nana; I swear…he will hear from my lawyers… People will forgive him, but I wouldn’t, he can’t take people for granted,” he said. A representative from the management team of Kofi Sarpong also spoke to NEWS-ONE about the issue yesterday.

“Akoo Nana has bitten more than he can chew. His song is a stupid one, and annoyingly he is saying it was not just a song. We would sue him. Kofi Sarpong is a married man and a senior police officer and a gospel musician. How can you say his wife is chasing you and get away with this? The laws of Ghana do not allow that,” the source noted.

But Akoo seems the least perturbed about the pending lawsuits.
“It was not just a song I was singing; I was communicating a message to drive home a lesson because he knows what I am talking about, but he is not man enough to admit it,” Akoo told NEWS-ONE.

I'LL QUIT POLITICS AFTER 2016 - FRITZ BAFFOUR

The Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma South constituency, Fritz Baffour, will cut his political career short to go back to his first love as an entertainer.

Baffour told Starr News he has informed his constituents and his party that he will not represent them again come 2016. The MP, who is in his second term, is one of Ghana's pioneer comedians who joined politics in 2008 after he won the primaries to represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in his constituency.

The charismatic leader said he believes he has contributed his best to the people over the period and needed to make way for someone else to continue the good work as he returns to television and media where his experience and expertise are required.

“My time as an MP I’ve learned a lot more in dealing with human beings than I’ve ever wanted to know but once you are an entertainer and once you are a media person you never leave it,” he said.

He said in an interview to Channel R earlier this year that he was worried about what the industry had turned into.

"...we gave out deep comedy. Now the industry is bad! Investment in comedy is poor...”

But Baffour said he has high hopes for the Ghanaian entertainment industry saying it is one that can still grow bigger than what it is currently.

He believes government can help the industry attain the expected heights.

“…we need to regulate it some more, we need to get proper financing and infrastructure, in terms of theaters and production equipment so that this industry will be budding and I think government has got to do that.”

EAZZY AND KEITTA BACK TOGETHER AS LOVEBIRDS

Eazzy and Keitta are back together. There is no beef – no bad blood – everything is fine. You can call them boy and girl.

She confirmed this in an interview with Bola Ray on the Starr Drive, on STARR 103.5 FM on Thursday afternoon.

An exciting turnaround, it would mark another round of media spotlight, the very part she told Bola Ray was somewhat responsible for their break up.

Both were Ghana’s representatives at the Big Brother Africa reality show in 2012, and were looking forward to solidifying what would have been one of Ghana most graceful ‘celebrity’ relationships.

But a chain of wild rumours together with their own issues made that impossible.

“There were many factors. Family, friends plus I was also on tour in the UK then. But we are back together now and it’s beautiful.”

She told Bola Ray they’ve gotten over their issues, and ready to enjoy another phase in their lives.
