Ghana's Best Male Rapper

In the ever challenging Ghanaian music market, it has always been difficult for an artiste to break through let alone make profit.

From the development of concept, composing, recording, promoting and marketing the bottlenecks at each stage are just more than enough to make one give up. For the mens in the industry, it's even a non-starter as a result of the male dominance in almost all spheres.

Eno, Ghana's Best Female Rapper

In the ever challenging Ghanaian music market, it has always been difficult for an artiste to break through let alone make profit.

From the development of concept, composing, recording, promoting and marketing the bottlenecks at each stage are just more than enough to make one give up. For the ladies in the industry, it's even a non-starter as a result of the male dominance in almost all spheres.

Of late however, the ladies have been making steady in rows in the various genres of Ghanaian Music. However, the rap game has been the most slippery turf for the ladies and this is where the latest female to join the band wagon comes in.

She is ENO. Born Ruth Nana Serwaa Nyame over 20years ago, she had her basic education at. She continued her SHS at Methodist Day Secondary where she shared the classroom with Sarkodie, Stay J, Yaw Siki and Stone Boy and others. ENO read marketing at Kumasi Polytechnic

ENO has been an entertainer for the most part of her life. As the Entertainment Prefect of her school, she took it upon herself to personally entertain her school mates culminating in the development of her rap talent.

In the very difficult to break through Ghanaian music market, ENO sees her love for what she does and the difference she brings as the main ingredients to her successful music carrier.

The music background of her parents Rev. Abraham Osei Bonsu Nyame Adom a pastor and Mrs. Rebecca Nyame Adom, a school proprietor, gradually developed her interest in and love for music.

ENO has for a long time been a huge fan of Missy Elliot and cherishes how she dispenses energy in her rap songs She bemoans the seemingly lack of women in the rap game hijacked by the males and says it's time for Dr. Aggrey's statement to be materialized.

ENO auditioned for TV3s Gang Starz but her journey into commercial music began on K FM's Freestyle Saturday where she murdered most of the male contestants with dazzling weekly performances. Though she placed fourth in the finals, she took consolation in the fact that she had made her case for ladies in the rap game.

Well aware that most contestants enjoy lots of fame during reality shows but are unable to maximize the opportunity after the competition, ENO zoomed into serious work right after Freestyle Saturday. Her first song was 'What's my name?

She's now out with a banger 'My Love' in which she featured Afriyie formerly of Wutah. Her 10 track 'I'm Out' album of 10 songs has stints of hip hop, dancehall, contemporary Highlife and more Ghana should brace up.

Sarkodie and Trigmatic Turn Herty Borngreat into Rapper

When gospel artiste Herty Borngreat featured Sarkodie and Trigmatic on her album, it became talk of the city as to why a gospel artiste should collaborate with secular music artiste. As everything is done for a reason, same did she have her reasons for that. Herty has been on most stages performing without the any of the two artistes she featured. She was seen at the RTP alone without any of the two artistes she featured on heralbum.

Last Saturday, the Saba hall week at the University of Ghana was a splendid performance staged by the gospel artiste. For the first time in the history of the University, there has not been any performance from a gospel artiste during the artiste night of a hall week celebration. The gospel artistes are usually billed to perform at the gospel rockshow which is usually to commemorate the weeklong celebration.

Herty who appeared on stage last Saturday with full energy rapped perfectly as Sarkodie and Trigmatic would have done if they were to be performing with her.

She didn’t miss any line of the artistes she featured on her tracks. From the “Wa”, “You know say money know be problem” and all the noise that Sarkodie made in the song she made sure everything was on point. Herty after the “kano seyaa” which she featured Trigmatic was followed by “bebree” which she also featured Sarkodie. She was able to move the crowed for them to rap after all the lines BET award winner Sakodie rapped. Herty hinted that, she aimed at winning souls for Christ with the songs that’s why she featured those artistes so that she could get the chance of performing at any event to spread the news.

Don't abort the babies - Nana Aba's humble plea to young ladies

Winning the "Television Newscaster Of The Year (Female Category)" presented the lovely host of the "Divas Show" and eloquent TV3 news anchor Nana Aba Anamoah the perfect opportunity to showcase to the world her 11-year-old son "In whom she trusts."

As Nana Aba publicly showed off her son she was psychologically waging a campaign, "Don't Abort That Pregnancy", for children are a gift from God.

In so doing, Nana Aba succeeded in tickling the emotions of patrons who had thronged the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre to be part of the second edition of the Globa RTP Awards.

Speaking in an interview with the Weekend Finder, she said she damned the consequences to do what a few celebrities would dare do publicly, especially single mothers.

Nana Aba, on the night, walked confidently upstage after she was announced winner of the category, with a young boy, to receive her award, leaving many wondering who the chap was.

After receiving her award, Nana Aba introduced the young boy as her son and then presented the award to him live on stage, telling him he had been an inspiration to her so she was dedicating the award to him.

This was indeed emotional and according to Nana Aba, she did all that because her son had truly been an inspiration and had always understood her as a single mother.

"My son is indeed my husband and boyfriend and I live him," she said with passion.

Nana Aba recounted what she went through when she gave birth just after Senior High School, adding that "my son has always understood me as a single mother and there are times that when school reopens, my son will tell me to hold on with his school fees if I did not have money immediately to pay for it, but knowing how important his education is to me, I always made sure I paid his fees at the beginning of the term."

Speaking passionately about her relationship with her son, she said it was a bond that could never be broken, recounting how her son told her that though some children were single-handedly taken care of by their mothers, they went back to their fathers when they grew up and he made a promise to her that he would never go back to his father.

she said however that as touching as that promise was, she told her son not to say that, telling him that it was circumstances that had made it so, encouraging him that should his dad come back someday to apologize to him, he should forgive him.

She spoke of how she had seen a conversation between her son and his father on facebook in which the son had not been too kind with words for his father but she advised him to learn to forgive and also let go.

Nana Aba used the opportunity to advise young ladies not to give up in life when they come across challenges like teenage pregnancy and cautioned them never to try to abort those babies, adding that it was always better to have protected six if they had to do it.

Nana Aba said she was not endorsing teenage pregnancy but if it happened, abortion should not be an option.

"Having a child out of marriage is not a crime though it is not the ideal situation in our society," she cautioned young ladies.

She said they should not give up but rather see the challenge as a blessing in disguise.

She said, “if you are able to endure and overcome you will definitely make it in life".

she said since last Saturday, she had received numerous calls from young ladies who told her how her story had inspired them and were willing to open up to the public and tell their stories.

You may know him for his wit and humour, a popular face in many local movies but Mr. Beautiful, known in real life as Clement Bonney has temporarily abandoned the cameras to join the campaign trail of ruling NDC’s President Mahama.

R2Bees to Launch 'The R2Bees Condom'

So far R2Bees is the only group that I feel will succeed in the business side of things; as most celebs try to venture into fashion and not-so-good businesses. Well R2Bees seems to be going into something big that goes with their name ‘Refuse To Be Broke’.

They had the plan a while ago but circumstances halted the plan but it seems things have gone through and they are ready for business. Will you buy the R2Bees condoms? Of course I will.

Our source tells us that the ‘R2Bees’ condoms are currently seeking approval from the Ghana Standards Board/Food and Drugs Board before they hit the market. I guess it’s appropriate to say that “R2bees Condoms are coming soon!”

Man shot dead by friend at Vienna Nite Club

A young man believed to be in his mid 30s was shot dead Monday dawn at the Vienna Nite Club in Tema by his friend after he tried to stop the friend from firing a warning shot.

The man, whose name was only given as Arimi, was a car dealer who had gone to the club to chill with his friends when the unfortunate incident happened.

A source told  that the deceased was “separating a fight between his friend and some guys at the Vienna Nite Club Monday dawn. His friend pulled out his gun to give a warning shot and he tried to stop him and his friend mistakenly shot him.”

Other sources said the friend of the deceased who fired the gun hopped into his car and left the scene after the incident and is currently on the run.

An eyewitness narrated that “a man was giving warning shots and he confronted the man and told him to calm down before we realize the man shot him in the head and run away with his car...Arimi died on the spot,” he added.

As at the time of filing this report, Islamic rituals were being held, since the deceased is a Muslim, at the Tema Community 9 Mosque for his final interment.
