MY FATHER HAD TO PULL A GUN BECAUSE OF MY BACKSIDE - ACTRESS

What do men want from actress Mercy Little Smith? She is convinced that it is her well-endowed backside that attract so much male attention. “I don’t know what my bum does to them”, the 32 year-old actress told Showbiz, “when they see me, they go crazy.

“The other day; a man who was watching me from his car veered off the road and nearly run his car into someone because of my buttocks”, Mercy Little Smith who prefers to be called Little said. Known for movies Will Of The Gods, No Shaking, For Better For War and Power Of The Gods, Little said she is often too shy to step out of her home especially during day time because of her backside. “Sometimes, I wish I were slim but that is how God created me and there is nothing I can do about my figure. “At age 15, I had sugar daddies including married men running after me. My father was very worried and sometimes had to pull a gun to scare them off.

The pressure from men was so much that I had to give in to one of them with whom I became pregnant when I was in the secondary school”, Little revealed.

According to her, even now that she is a mother of two, men still chase her. “Any day that I decide to walk on the streets, I have not less than 15 men wanting to either talk to me or take my phone number and I wonder what I have that other women don’t have. “I know I am beautiful in my own way but another plus that I have been blessed with is the fact that I rarely fall sick.”, she said.

About marriage, the divorcee said she was not in a hurry to find another man. “I have been married before and things were not that smooth for me and now that I am divorced, I really want to take my time before I go into marriage again.” Speaking about how she became an actress, Little who said she had always dreamt of becoming an actress but did not know how to approach it until she had a call from movie producer Nana Nkrumah who tried her in one of his roles and since then, other movie producers have given her roles in their movies.

Little has had the fortune of acting alongside stars in the industry such as Agya Koo, John Dumelo, Jackie Appiah, Martha Ankomah, Mercy Asiedu, Gloria Safo and Wayosi.

She expressed regret that her big figure sometimes disqualify her from playing certain roles which she would have loved to play. After appearing in commercials for Play Boy, Pusher, Atinka Coffee and Capital 02 , it is Little’s wish to become a brand ambassador for a reputable company.

DADDY LUMBA TO ORGANIZE TWO (2) FREE SHOWS

Sensational hi-life legend Charles Kwadwo Ofosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has promised to organize two free shows during the Christmas festivities.

According to him, plans are afoot to have one show in Accra in December and Kumasi in the New Year. Daddy Lumba, who turned 50 on Tuesday September 29, this year, announced this on Adom FM’s Ofie Kwanso drive time show hosted by Jerry Justice.

The hi-life legend says, he will be playing the two shows to thank his fans for giving him massive support over the years, through thick and thin.

Unlike other celebrities who throw lavish parties to celebrate their birthdays, Daddy Lumba said he had seldom celebrated his birthday in such style, saying “I am such a quiet person and always like being indoors and do not like being involved in such things”, he said.

Daddy Lumba has 29 albums to his credit.

The musician, who recently fell seroiusly ill, told his fans to continue to pray with him as he makes a full recovery.

“In fact, I was very sick for some time but now I’m a bit ok, and still on medication to receive a total recovery”, he disclosed.

HAMMER SUGGESTS ELECTRONIC LOGGING SYSTEM TO GHAMRO INTERIM BOARD

Legendary beat producer, Hammer of the Last Two Records, has called on the interim Receivers and Managers team of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) to adopt an electronic logging system to make the distribution of royalties among musicians accurate.

The present GHAMRO currently uses a fixed price quote system to collect royalties on behalf of right owners.

But Edward Nana Poku Osei, as Hammer is known in private life, says it is better to monitor separately and allocate royalties on behalf of music right owners based on airplay.

“I agree with the logging system that is done internationally, where the individual works are monitored separately. Maybe one artiste performed better in terms of airplay than the other. With that, you can’t give them the same amount of money," he said.

The Chief Executive of Last Two Music Group further told NEWS-ONE, "We need to fix the logging system that will determine who exactly got that much airplay and who didn’t. The information has to be accurate. So I think they should change the fixed price system to the electronic logging system."

It would be recalled that Carlos Sakyi, the ousted Chairman of GHAMRO, had been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service over some huge cash withdrawals made from the organisation’s accounts by the Carlos Sakyi-led Board which could not be accounted for.

However, Hammer stated that if the allegations turnout to be true then it is criminal, and the culprits must be dealt with.

“If that is true, I won’t blame the system; I will blame the individuals who are in charge because the system at that time, even though it wasn’t the best internationally, was working for them," he indicated.

Adding, "But when it comes to acquiring things for themselves using funds from the organisation, then I think it is a crime, and I will blame the individuals.”

ADWOA SMART IS SERIOUSLY LOOKING FOR LOVE

Veteran actress, Belinda Naa Ode Oku popularly known as ‘Adwoa Smart’ in the entertainment fraternity has said she is looking for a partner who is willing to love and respect her just as she is.

She said that even though previous relationships have not worked out like she expected, she will not give up on finding a man who truly cherishes her.

“Who will not open her mouth and swallow falling honey? I’m single and seriously looking for love. But all I’m asking God for is a nice man who will love and understand me for who I am.

The diminuitive Adwoa Smart said even though she has had to deal with uncomfortable looks from people anytime she is in public, she is not perturbed.

“One of the challenges I have in my life is that people look down on me anytime I’m in public but I always encourage myself and move on”.

When asked about her thoughts on the movie industry presently, Adwoa Smart said the industry was more lucrative than it used to be about 20 years ago when she began her acting career.

“I would have bought my own private jet if I had earned the money actors and actresses earn lately” she said in Twi.

She said rumours speculating that she had a relationship with popular artist Barima Sydney are false because she and the artist see each other as brother and sister and there was nothing more to it.

Adwoa Smart has acted a number of television dramas, movies and performed in several stage productions, including Obra, It’s too late, Father and Son, Moneybag, Matters of the heart, Judgement Day and Lucifer.

"CASTRO'S DISAPPEARANCE HAS AFFECTED MY CAREER"

Fante-speaking rapper Kofi Kinaata, who was featured on Castro’s popular hit track ‘Odo pa’ with Asamoah Gyan, has broken his silence since the infamous incident that saw the mysterious disappearance of Castro happened some months back.

Speaking to Hitz FM’s Ibrahim Ben Bako on ‘the Scoop’on Friday, September 26, 204; Kofi Kinaata indicated that Castro’s disappearance has affected his career adding that able to perform to his satisfaction when on stage.

Castro and his female friend, Janet Bandu went missing while on a holiday hangout with family and friends including the Gyan brothers at the Holiday resort in Ada in July 2014.

Relentless efforts are still being made to find the missing duo.

Kinaata continued, “I always feel sad when I hear the ‘Odo pa’ track. I have never been able to perform his part of the song since the incident happened."

Adding, "In fact, I do miss Castro a lot but I still believe he will come back one day."

D-BLACK’S MANAGEMENT TO SUE KINGDOM HERBAL LTD FOR THEFT?

It is sad when huge corporations try to outwit and outsmart Ghanaian musicians over their intellectual property usage for their own selfish gains when the right thing could have easily been done. Kingdom Herbal Ltd. is manufacturers of numerous herbal drugs on the market.

Currently authors of the most popular song in Ghana ‘Seihor’, Castro & D-Black’s intellectual property have been breached by Kingdom Herbal Ltd as the popular herbal beverage manufacturing firm have breached the intellectual property rights of Theophilus Tagoe (Castro), Desmond Blackmore (D-Black) & Patrick Sika Nartey (DJ Breezy) using the song as the theme song for the TVC (Televison Commercial) promoting their new herbal drink ‘Don Papa’ Gin Bitters without their consent.

Calls made to the offices of Kingdom Herbal by the management team of Castro and D-Black proved futile till a visit was made by Castro’s manager and biological brother ‘Kwame Tagoe’ and D-Black’s road manager ‘Francis Clottey’.

After reaching the director of the firm Mr. Jonathan Amofa, who promised to call and resolve the issue in a few days with them. The next day, the outfit tried to outsmart them by removing ‘Seihor’ In the edit of the TV commercial and replaced the song with a foreign one on all the TV stations airing the commercial.

The next phone call made to him upon seeing this had him retort ‘Hey we have removed the song , what do you want from us again? You don’t have any proof’.

Little did they know that the original advert had already been recorded.

The TV commercial sees the use of the ‘still missing’ Castro’s song ‘Seihor’ and the duplication of the dance moves with his crew in the ‘Seihor’ music video which was recorded and produced at D-Black’s Black Avenue Muzik studios by DJ Breezy.

Legal action is set to be taken in the coming days against Kingdom Herbal Ltd.

"STOP HAILING HIGHLIFE MUSIC; IT HAS TAKEN GHANA NOWHERE"

Multiple award-winning Reggae musician who doubles up as a Radio Broadcaster, Abu Ahmed aka Blakk Rasta has cautioned Ghanaians to stop hailing Highlife music because it has not brought us the international recognition Ghanaian's have always yearned for.

The Salaga Soldier said this during an interview with Sammy Flex on Flex on Pluzz, the only Sunday intellectual entertainment show on Pluzz 89.9 FM.

He also disclosed that after his tour in Europe, he has come to realize that Ghana is full of unnecessary hype, in that musicians would always want to brag with what they are worth and what they cannot even do without really doing much but noted that it is not the case in Europe.

“In Europe, you go and it is the other way round. In fact, with small islands like Saint Lucia less than a quarter of the population of Ghana who are huge musically, you go everywhere and they are there but we are here in Ghana making a lot of noise,” he said.

Asked how he got to Europe, the Barrack Obama singer said, “my management did the magic. I have always loved to work with female managers because I believe they have that soft spots to break the hardness of the men and I think that presently is doing some wonders for me because I have played shows in places where no Ghanaian has ever performed due to the hard work of my manager.”

He added that gaining international recognition isn't how good your songs are but how good you can perform on stage.

Blakk Rasta further disclosed that he has just been signed by VP Records, the biggest record label in the world.

With regards to the Radio and Television Personality Awards, Blakk Rasta intimated that he was tired winning the Reggae Show Host of the year slot and is ready to write to the organizers to give other people the chance to shine too.

He said he was disappointed that Fiifi Selah of Pluzz FM was not nominated this year in the Best Reggae Presenter of the Year category.

“I DON'T GIVE ATTENTION TO SINGLES & NOT STRUGGLING TO RELEASE HIT SONGS EITHER”

CEO of TN Records, Nana Kwaku Duah, well-known as Tic Tac has told Flex Newspaper that he doesn't give much attention to releasing single tracks.

He said this when he was asked if he possibly might be struggling to come out big as he was some years ago.

“I am not struggling for a hit because sometimes you drop a song it will fly, other times too you will drop and it won't. I am not getting a hit song because my last album was the 'Ten day' album which had one of the biggest hit with 'Bosoe' and from there I haven't dropped any album again," he said.

Adding, "I have released a single but not an album but normally I think because we are from the generation of the album, so when we drop an album we turn to give it more extra focus than just the single."

He further noted, "May be that has been the tradition for me. Let`s see what happens. God willing, I will be releasing the seventh album and the public can judge for themselves."

According to Tic Tac, “My seventh album will be coming out before December and I am trying to re-brand. I am trying to get back to the root and push to the root because I can see that it's who we are. I am a rapper, a singer, and I do more.”

Asked what he makes of the current crop of musicians he said it was good to have people grow and to see different faces in the music industry.

“Without them, there will never be growth and I wouldn't have had my time. I think the new guys are doing fantastic. Most of them have unique skills. From the beginning, they all knew they are going to have their style because we had our style," he said.

Indicating that "they have to nurture their style to grow and once they do that they can stay for a very long time. Many have come, and others will still follow.”

He further stated that when one's time is rife they need to make good use of it and make sure they stay relevant, because they can never be number one forever.

ACTRESSES ASSOCIATION SENDS WARNING SIGNAL

The Actresses Association of Ghana (ACTAG) has threatened to sue the host of ‘Anigyefie’ on Royal Television in Kumasi, Papa Kumasi and Akwasi Asamoah, a resource person on the show, for alleging that all actresses engage in sexual relationship with producers and directors before given roles in movies.

In a letter copied to the BEATWAVES, ACTAG had taken strong exception to the said utterances, describing the allegations as “defamatory, uncalled for and a smear on the integrity of the membership especially against those married and those who are yet to get married in the group.”

The letter said the utterances of Big Akwess had, therefore, brought the image of the entire membership into disrepute and also made them subject of ridicule in the eyes of right thinking members of the society.

“We are by the letter requesting your station as a matter of urgency to retract the said publication with three days from the day of receipt of this letter.

In addition, your station should do a publication in the print media three times rendering an unqualified apology to the entire membership.

We have the firm instructions of our clients to commence legal action against the host, the guest and the station upon failure to adhere to our admonitions,” the letter highlighted.

"FORGET CRITICS, I WILL GO NAKED AGAIN IF THE NEED BE"

Ghanaian actress Nikki Samoans became bone of contention in Ghana and Nigeria after she went naked in a movie with Jim Iyke years back.

The beautiful actress after all the criticisms which followed her unclad scene with Jim Iyke has stated that she will repeat the act if the need be.

The bikini queen before speaking to Abrantepa on Radio Univers last week had denied allegations on UTV that she had sex with Nigerian actor Jim Iyke in a movie.

“Yes! Jim Iyke and I have done a lot of movies together. It is through Jim Iyke that I shot my first movie in Nigeria. Yes, we starred in a particular movie and a movie is a movie.

“It is make believe so whatever you saw in the movie is make believe. We did it that way to show people that things like this happen, but it doesn’t mean it really happened”.

Speaking to Abrantepa on Radio Univers, Nikki Samonas said “Will I repeat it? It depends on the movie, script, story and money.”

The TV host added that the criticism is usual of Africans, so it is not a pain in her backside. According to her, these fault-finders strengthens her, “People talk. Let them talk because they make me a star.”

WHY JACKIE APPIAH WAS ABSENT AT WORLD CUP COMMISSION

Pretty Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah was trending as one of the chosen celebrity ambassadors for Ghana’s participation at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
She was again trending for her supposed appearance before the Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate proceedings at the mundial.

Jackie’s name has extensively been bandied around in the media as the first entertainer ambassador to appear before the Justice Dzamefe-led presidential commission of inquiry into Ghana’s dismal performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The actress was said to make the appearance early this week, together with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, Fred Crenstil and former national football team stars, C.K. Akunnor and Augustine Arhinful.

However, 'Razz' investigations revealed that the actress is in faraway Czech Republic and expressed her ignorance of her being called before the Commission when the paper spoke to her.

“I am lost; no one has contacted me or informed me about anything. You are the first person to even tell me about this story circulating online, so let’s consider it as one of the online public rumors,” she told the paper.

She was quick to hint that, she has not been hiding from the Commission as being speculated by some people and disclosed that she is out of the country attending to some businesses and not aware of whatever is going on.

On her expected return and possible appearance before the Commission, she said: “I will be coming to Ghana very soon, and will be available in the country for some time and will appear when duly called.”

Jackie Appiah, Becca, and John Dumelo were three of quite a number of celebrity ambassadors who made it to Brazil, rallying support for the stars before and during the tournament.

GHANA ACTORS GUILD PUNCHES FIPAG OVER BIG AKWES' SUSPENSION

The Ghana Actors Guild (GAG) has displayed its disappointment in the leadership of the Film Producers’ Association of Ghana (FIPAG) for their suspension of services engagement with actor, Big Akwes.

Akwasi Asamoah known in showbiz as Big Akwes on RTV’s ‘Agoro Fie’ challenged movie producers, directors and actors to deny his assertion that they have been sleeping with actresses for roles, adding that whoever comes out to deny, he will curse him.

The leadership of FIPAG in a release expressed their disgust at the conduct of Big Akwes and slapped him with a twenty-four month sanction, asking its members not to engage his services; an action the Ghana Actors’ Guild finds unfortunate.

Public Relation’s Officer of the Ashanti regional branch of the GAG, Emmanuel Nii Adjetey, in an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers stated that, FIPAG should have waited for a while before taking any decision.

“He (Big Akwes) is our member. He is not a member of FIPAG so I find it difficult to understand why they have sanctioned him. They should have given us that respect, so to speak," he said.

Adding, "Earlier, we had released a statement distancing ourselves from the statement made by Big Akwes and ordering him to retract and apologize for those submissions on that same platform else, punitive measures would be taken against him."

“Why then should FIPAG take such stance when he has apologized? It would have been better if they had met us so we all take a decision,” he lamented.

Public Relations Officer of FIPAG, Michael Kweku Ola, reacting to the issue on Brunch2Lunch told Abrantepa that, the association did no wrong in asking its members not to engage the services of Big Akwes.

“We have not sanctioned him. We don’t have the power to sanction anyone who is not under our umbrella. We are only dissociating ourselves from him; meaning he can work with any producer who is not our member,” Ola Michael explained.

He further indicated, “But the other side is that, that producer will have to find a way to sell the movie so long as it doesn’t come to the market standard that we have created. Moreover, we copied the guild. It’s something we do to sanitize the industry.”

Mr. Adjetey said the Ashanti regional branch of the guild has called on its national office to see how best to resolve the issue with FIPAG since the two-year suspension of engagement of services is too harsh.

RWANDA TO MAKE ITS DEBUT ON BIG BROTHER HOTSHOTS

M-Net and Endemol SA are pleased to announce that due to recent developments, Rwanda has now been re-instated as a participating country in Big Brother Hotshots.

The re-instatement is as a result of the delay in production which led to adequate time being available to process the necessary documentation for the housemates to participate in the reality show.

We would like to thank Rwandans and fans across the continent for their patience throughout this process.

We wish Rwanda a spectacular debut onto Africa’s biggest reality show and in the build-up to the launch, fans can look forward to more housemates being revealed in anticipation to Big Brother Hotshots hitting the screens on Sunday 5 October.

For more information, follow the action in the lead-up to the Premiere on social media by following @BigBroAfrica, liking facebook.com/BigBrotherAfrica or go to the official website at www.bigbrotherafrica.com

MAJID MICHEL IS THE BEST ACTOR IN AFRICA, STELLA DAMASCUS

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus, has described Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, as the best actor to have come out of Africa.

Knowing fully well that her assertion will be challenged, the actress explained that people might not understand why she said so until the time is right and people will know and see the motive behind her attribution to the Ghanaian actor.

This is coming recently after the actor became a year older and was given a surprise party by friends while away in Atlanta, USA.

Interestingly, Majid has featured in lots of movies that I guess he (Majid) might even loose count.

He has featured in both the Ghanaian and Nollywood movies.

BIG AKWES APOLOGIZES; FIPAG REJECTS APOLOGY

The Film Producers’ Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has indicated that it will not accept the apology from actor, Big Akwes following his comments that actors, directors and film producers sleep with actresses for roles.

Public Relations Officer of FIPAG, Michael Kweku Ola told host of Brunch2Lunch on Radio Univers, Abrantepa, that though Big Akwes has apologized, he has not retracted the statement.

According to FIPAG PRO, “So many opportunities have been given him to correct himself and apologize. The only time I heard him apologize was on another station where he even made an affirmation of what he said.”

Adding, “he did not show any sign of remorse. Meaning, he has not regretted making those comments. If you listen to the tape very well, you will realize that he has smeared our face with mud.”

He further noted, “he knows where our office is. If he wants to apologize, he knows what to do. If he respected directors and producers; he wouldn’t just sit on TV and apologize.”

Asked if an apology letter would be accepted, Mr. Ola said it would not be a guarantee for absolute pardon.

“If he brings the letter, we will look at it, though I don’t foresee any positive results. Some of our members even suggested five years, others were suggesting ten years. But we have just put on a human face,” he said.

Indicating, “how can you make such comments without any evidence to prove your claim? It has caused us a lot. If you mess yourself up by sleeping with actresses, it doesn’t mean everyone does. Most of us are married men.”

OKYEAME KWAME, KSM READY FOR ‘VERSATILE SHOW’

Okyeame Kwame has announced that preparations are far advanced for the ‘Okyeame Kwame Versatile Show’ which comes off at the National Theatre on November 8.

This year’s show promises to be a fully-blown showpiece of a musical artistry by a talented artiste, likely from an appropriate course for redefining musical concerts.

He disclosed that the show themed ‘Modernity Meets Tradition’ seeks to combine theatre, music and dance on one stage in one night, and would be hosted by one of the seasoned talk show hosts, Kweku Sintim-Misa (KSM).

The rap doctor, whose live musical performance would keep the audience spellbound, said the show is expected to attract a large number of music lovers, personalities and a number of stakeholders in the music industry.

"I’M NOT DATING DAVIDO"

2014 Miss Supranational Ghana, Habiba Sinare, has debunked rumours that she is in a relationship with award-winning Nigerian musician, David Adeleke known on stage as Davido.

Photographs of Davido and the 2014 Miss Supranational Ghana beauty queen, Habiba Sinare, surfaced on the internet over the weekend. They got fans and the media speculating.

Their cozy posture in the photographs has got many talking and wondering if there is more to it than meets the eye.

But in a swift response, the Ghanaian beauty queen says she is not dating the musician and that he is the last thing on her mind.

Habiba Sinare posted a photo on Twitter with the inscription; 'PLEASE AM NOT DATING DAVIDO.'

She added, “Why are you all doing this to me!!!…I never came on air to tell anyone I was going out with him; There are so many things am thinking about connecting to my life, NOT Davido.”

This is the second time Davido has been linked with a Ghanaian lady.

Early this year, the ‘Aye’ hit singer, was reported to have broken up with hot Ghanaian Nish Kards, popularly known as Ghana’s Kim Kardashia.

REGGIE ROCKSTONE OKAYS GHAMRO INTERIM BOARD

Hiplife founder, Reggie Rockstone says he finds it more comforting that as part of the revolution to ensure fairness, transparency and equity in the distribution of royalties, an interim board of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has taken over.

Reginald Rockstone Ossei was among the several music right owners who took up the crusade to kick out the old GHAMRO board indicated, “just the mere fact that they are there and something is happening is more comforting."

"The old system was terrible, and it has been a long road of so much discrepancies. But the beautiful thing about the whole thing is, here we are today talking about it and doing something about it," he told New One.

Adding, "nothing goes on forever; and so this is a good day that we can acknowledge that there was some effort.”

According to Reggie, if the three main objectives for the revolution fairness, transparency and equity in the distribution of royalties are heeded to by the current GHAMRO administration, all the problems facing the organisation will be solved.

“It will go back to my original slogan, which is accountability, transparency and equality in the distribution of royalties," he said.

He further noted that these three are very important to this revolution, and "once we set off on that note, everything else will fall in place like a domino effect. These things pretty much cover everything."

"I don’t want it to sound like it is a witch hunt, but those three things mentioned above will bring us the answers to the issue of recommendation,” he stated.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that Carlos Sakyi, the ousted Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), was invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for what is suspected to be financial fraud and secret buying of a car without going through the legitimate procedure.

But Reggie Rockstone disclosed that the issues arising from the offices of the old GHAMRO are dicey and scary.

“With the issue about the car and the others before the CID, if we have to look at it for what it really is, then yes, it is criminal; and this is where it gets really dicey and scary,” he said.

"AMBOLLEY IS NOT AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE UNION"

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kufour, has revealed that Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is not an active member of the union.

Obour made this known on Adom FM’s entertainment review during an interview with the host of the show, Kojo Preko Dankwa.

He further revealed that since 2011, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has neither renewed his membership with the union nor has paid his dues.

The MUSIGA president explained that the constitution of the association does not recognise anyone who fails to pay his dues and renews his membership over a year as a member of the union.

He, however, cautioned that anyone who makes an unsubstantiated allegation against him in person would be made to prove it in court.

Gyedu-Blay Ambolley recently accused executives of MUSIGA of stealing from musicians in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr FM.

He stated that the current executives of MUSIGA were abusing their mandate and office.

WE LOVE BAD PUBLICITY; NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS - R2BEES

Award-winning group, R2bees says they understand the saying “there is no such thing as bad publicity."

The group which consists of Paedae, Mugeez and other unknown members has disclosed that they hold no grudges with any media house for bad publicities made about them.

Speaking to Giovani on YFM in Accra, Paedae, leader of the group stated that they have read false stories about them on many platforms, but they keep mute because “no news is good news.”

Paedae real name Faisal Hakeem said “it is pretty normal for people to report bad about you so when they are talking negative about us; we still keep mute. There is a saying that no news is good news, so we just keep our mouths close.”

The rapper who disclosed that there are about thirty members of R2bees working behind the scenes to help the group added, “We love it when we see all those news on twitter. We were in London when I saw one story that Killbeatz has left R2bees, I showed it to Mugeez and we laughed about it.”

On his relationship with Mugeez and Killbeatz, Paedae made it known, “Mugeez and myself are blood cousins and Killbeatz is also somebody we grew up with. I’ve known Killbeatz from day one, so there is no way he will leave R2bees.”

He further expressed shock at why people are happy to see the downfall of the others, “I’m surprised that people see delight in seeing things scatter. What will you benefit from it when R2bees scatter?”

"CHERISH LOCAL AWARDS THAN INTERNATIONAL", KKD

It is no secret that Ghanaian entertainers do love awards, both local and international, but they clearly love and speak highly of their international awards than the ones they win here in Ghana.

Highly-venerated media kingpin, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, affectionately called, KKD has advised Ghanaian artistes, and especially those nominated for the 2014 Chanel O Music Video Awards – to cherish the local awards they win and boast about them, more than they do for international awards.

Speaking on the ‘Rundown’ on TV Africa, the media impresario stated that, there’s no better feeling for an artiste to win a home-made award that are given outside the country, "the greatest awards come from the home, from the people you serve."

He further admonished that foreigners will not be frantic about awards that are given from here, indicating, “No American artiste will act very excited over some other award given in some other country. Ghanaian artistes should relish, and cherish awards given in the motherland than that outside."

For the 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards, R2bees and Sarkodie have each been nominated in two categories.

Shatta Wale has also been nominated for ‘Most Gifted Dancehall/Ragga’ with his song ‘Everybody Likes My Thing’.

Sarkodie’s ‘Illuminati’ has been nominated for ‘Most Gifted Video of the Year’ and ‘Most Gifted Male Video’.

R2Bees, on the other hand, have been nominated in the ‘Most Gifted Duo, Group or Featuring’ and ‘Most Gifted West’ with their hit single ‘Slow Down’ which featured Wizkid.

In 2013, the likes of Sarkodie, EL and D-Black were all nominated in the same awards but none of them won.
