I'M SINGLE - ACTRESS
Delectable actress, Ebi Bright, says
she has not featured in numerous movies in recent times because she is
now particular about scripts she is offered stressing that she is easily
put off when a script has so many grammatical mistakes and incoherent
plot.
According to the AUCC, University of Lome alumnus, she decided to find deeper meaning for her work since she had always done movies on part time basis.
Ebi Bright born in Nigeria and of Ghanaian-Nigerian parentage disclosed that she also writes on part time basis since she is a philosophical person adding her fans can watch out for two movies she featured in ‘Family Album and Sex Online’ to see her maturity and understand why she would only feature in stellar productions.
Despite having 22 movies to her credit, Ms. Bright asserted she is single and open to go out on dates, she however urged fans to limit the demand on her to assist them in securing movie roles because she is yet to produce her own movie.
The development communication graduate made these disclosures on the Late Night Celebrity Show hosted by Giovani Caleb.

WIFE OF GHANA'S BBA REP. KACEY MOORE SPEAKS OUT
There has been a lot of talks inside
and outside of the Big Brother house regarding Ghanaian housemate, Kacey
Moore’s relationships with the female housemates- particularly Ellah.
His close relationship with some the ladies has been described as disrespectful to his wife, whom he talks about often in the house. The development has even led to some housemates nominating Kacey simply for that reason in the past two weeks.
So how does his wife feel about all this? I reached out to Kacey’s wife, Leslie in South Africa to find out how she feels about the development.
She commented: “In my opinion, Kaccey went into Big Brother House to play the game, to entertain and showcase his talent. So far I have not felt any disrespect from him.
He’s been close to the people and more close to certain housemates and I know of all that. Living in a house under lock and restriction is not easy.
It’s only normal for him to find people he can share some close moments with. He has not french-kissed anybody neither has he engaged in and sexual relations. If I feel disrespected or feel our marriage is in danger,I will pull him out of that house myself; trust me on that. So far he’s been a wonderful husband and father and I’m proud of him. People should not judge without experiencing the circumstances first”
So there you have it..she doesn’t feel disrespected.

ENCOURAGE GHANAIAN FILM PRODUCERS
Steve Asare Hackman, President of the Film Producers Association of
Ghana (FIPAG), has asked stakeholders in the film industry to encourage
upcoming producers to churn out high-quality movies rather than
criticising them.
In recent times, film critics and even some movie producers have been expressing worry about how some films produced in Ghana have low standards and are affecting patronage.
Speaking to NEWS-ONE about that situation, Mr Hackman stated that the issue of falling standards in the film industry has been of great concern to the association.
“Since we came into office, this thing has been a great concern for us. We know that the fact that about 85 per cent of those who are producing Ghanaian films don’t have formal training is worrying. One of our agendas that we had in our manifesto is to provide training or to talk to film training institutes in Ghana and outside Ghana to organise training for our members,” he said.
Mr Hackman disclosed that FIPAG was currently in talks with the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) and other training institutions to design curricula that will encourage these producers to enrol and upgrade themselves.
“When we had our stakeholders’ conference in Kumasi, one of the things that came up for discussion was the scripting. We all concluded that for a film to be good, the initial thing is the story. We also spent a lot of time to find out how we would train some of our members. If a producer, who is already a member of FIPAG, has his money and interest in film and he has started, what do we do? Do we stop them? No we can’t. What we are doing now is to talk to NAFTI and other training institutions and see how best we can come out with a curriculum which will suit that requisite requirement to enter these schools. FIPAG is working tirelessly on this,” he said.
However Mr Hackman was quick to add that rating a film as high or low standard was mostly discretionary since what one may term as a good film may be a bad one for another.
“Not all Ghanaian films that are produced are low standard. Rating a movie as low standard is mostly discretionary because there are so many things one will have to use—like the storyline, acting, editing and directing among others—before arriving at such a conclusion. What you term as a good film might be termed as a bad film by another,” he noted.

FEMALE ACTORS NOT YET PRODUCERS NOT POOR – ROSELYN NGISSAH
With the wave of female actors
fast-becoming movie producers, the very few whose still love to remain
just actors are beginning to feel some pressure from critics, who have
started tagging them as not having the resources and the connections to
produce and lead the cast in their own movies.
Such an assertion has been rejected by one-time Ghana Movie Awards ‘Best Female Actor,’ Roselyn Ngissah, who says that – the female actors not producing are far from poor.
“It is cheap talk for someone to say that, the rest of us who are not shooting our own movies are poor. Not everybody will love to set up his or her own production and when one says that we are poor, what’s rich and what’s poor? How do you value rich and how do you value poor?” she queried.
She mentioned that fellow award-winning actress, Jackie Appiah has equally been in the industry for a long time and has not produced her own movie, but she still remains one of the most relevant actresses as far as movie-making is concerned in Ghana.
“I am still shooting and have lot of unreleased movies. The fact that others are shooting doesn’t mean we should all rush to shoot. It is not easy shooting and I respect all the female actresses who have entered into production: shooting is hard work,” she said.
She explained that it hasn’t occurred to her to shoot her own movie yet, though some producers have approached for some collaboration in movie production. She still believes the transition from acting to producing is just a matter of choice and time.
“I have had proposals but I am studying all of them before I make any decision on that,” she added.
Roselyn who just won the ‘Best Lead Actress’ in the just ended 2014 edition of Africa Films Movement (AFRIFIMO) Awards held in Maryland, USA, said that she’s currently on set shooting other movies.
She has starred in over twenty (20) movies and television drama series including ‘Sin Of The Soul’, ‘4 Play,’ ‘Reckless,’ ‘Broadway,’ ‘I stand Accused,’ ‘Princess Tyra,’ ‘Power of the gods,’ ‘Last Victory,’ ‘My Sisters Honour,’ ‘A Sting In A Tale,’ and ‘Adams Apples,’ among others.

SHATTA WALE FOR COURT AGAIN…OVER ASSAULT
NEWS-ONE has gathered that Ghanaian
Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale is being sued again for allegedly
assaulting Rashid Abu at his East Legon residence.
The embattled musician may soon have another court case dangling on his neck; this time, over reports he assaulted one Rashid Abu at his East Legon residence over the weekend.
NEWS-ONE has gathered that the ‘victim’, Rashid, his lawyer, together with a state prosecutor, have taken up a criminal case against Shatta Wale, known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr.
“Rashid’s lawyer, together with the police, is pressing charges against Shatta Wale for assaulting him,” the source stated.
Shatta reportedly assaulted Rashid in the presence of his manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bull Dog, over an amount of GH¢150 the musician owed him.
The ‘Dancehall King’ singer was invited to the Central Police Station for questioning yesterday before the lawsuit was initiated.
But when NEWS-ONE contacted Rashid about the lawsuit, he said: “Now that we are preparing for court, my lawyer has advised me not to speak on the issue.”
According to Rashid, he has fled his residence at Dansoman in Accra because of fear that Shatta Wale and his ‘macho men’ would come and assault him.
“Right now, I am afraid. I can’t even sleep in my house at Dansoman because Shatta Wale knows where I stay. I’m scared he and his thugs will come after me and assault me again,” Rashid told NEWS-ONE.
This will be the second lawsuit filed against Shatta Wale after Charter House sued him for defamation.
The events management and production company is demanding GH¢10 million as damages for the defamatory comments made in the four videos the artiste had uploaded on the social media.
At the first hearing, the court granted an order restraining Shatta Wale from making further defamatory remarks about Charter House.
Shatta Wale has been begging for an out-of-court settlement of the case and has formally written to lawyers of Charter House to that effect.

FENNEC IS IRREPLACEABLE... I DON'T HAVE PLANS OF GETTING A PERMANENT MANAGER - KWAW KESE
Kwaw Kesse, seem to be gradually
coming back to reality and has appointed a manager to take charge of his
business since the death of his trusted friend and manager, Fennec
Okyere, about six months ago.
However, the Na Ya Tal singer says that appointment is only a temporary measure as he is still grappling with his loss and having an emotional difficulty, over a decision to replace the late Fennec, who was his manager for a long time.
“Yes, I have an interim manager but that does not mean I have replaced Fennec. I’m aware that people think that I have not been fair to Fennec by appointing an interim manager to take care of my affairs, but I want to discard that thought because, it’s impossible that I’ll forget the memory of my best friend in such a short while,” Kwaw Kesse told Showbiz.
“I want to use this opportunity to emphasise, that I have not replaced Fennec Okyere. He is irreplaceable; neither do I have plans on getting a permanent manager now. I am still mourning my brother and friend. When I make up my mind on which path to take, I will let my fans know, but right now, I am not looking or scouting for a manger,” he said last Tuesday in an interview.
“We all know it was a business we were running and if the person who was in charge is no more, I believe work should still go on and I need someone to take over but that does not mean that I don’t have conscience. I just had to get someone to run the affairs of Mad Time Entertainment which includes me”, he continued.
Throwing light on his interim manager, the Wose Mmaa Pe Wo rapper said; “ He is Mr. Kelvin Aggrey and he is part of the Mad Time Entertainment team. He has worked with Fennec so it was just right for him to be appointed to handle things until I make a decision on what to do in relation to finding a manager.”
On how life has been since the death of Fennec who he described as “a brother from another mother”, the Odeim hitmaker said; “life has not been easy, things are no longer the same. You know, it is difficult especially after you lose someone that you’re used to doing everything with, but I believe God is in control and it is just a matter of time, everything will come back to normal.”
Kwaw Kese also known for hits such as Oye Nonsense, Ma Tewo Kwakwa, Swedru Agona, Ruff and My Thing said the one thing that he will always remember his late manager for was his creativity.
“ Fennec will forever remain in my memory for his creativity and artistic knowledge. I say this because; it was out of his creativity that a star was born in me. I am who I am today because of his creative nature.
“ He knew what to do and at what time. He had an idea of what will work and would work tirelessly to achieve anything he sets his mind on.
“He was very hard working and had a lot of things in store for me, Mad Time Entertainment and the showbiz circle as a whole,” he said.
Moving on to his music career, the one-time Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, said he is currently promoting his latest single, Mr. Lover Lover, and he is also working towards the release of his Forever album which will be launched in December this year.
The album features artistes like Joey B, Brymo from Nigeria and Ball J and to his fans, he says; “I want to thank them for their support and love through all these difficult times and I want to tell them to keep their fingers crossed and make sure they grab a copy of my album when it comes out.”
Fennec Okyere, the manager of Kwaw Kese, was found dead at his Manet Gardens residence on the March 13 of this year and according to reports, he was stabbed by some unknown assailant(s).
