I’D LOVE TO MARRY GENEVIEVE - D’BANJ

Singer, Dapo Oyebanji, aka D’banj, finally opened up on his love life in a rare meeting with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday.

The self-styled Kokomaster was clearly in his elements as he talked at length, amid occasional bouts of laughter, about his career and other issues that were important to him. One of the subjects was about his rumoured relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Judging by the manner in which the actress’ name kept popping off his lips, it was obvious that D’banj had a very soft spot for her.

Aware that the grapevine had bristled with the rumour that he was romantically involved with Genevieve, ever since she appeared in the 2010 video of his hit song, ‘Fall in Love’, the singer said the actress had played a role in his success.

“Apart from the fact that she is my friend, she has been a part of my success. There is no way you are going to tell my story that Genevieve’s name will not come up because she featured in my biggest song of all time,Fall in Love. So if E True Story comes to Nigeria to interview me, she will definitely be called upon to tell my story,” he said.

As if to confirm that there was more to his relationship with the actress than he had always admitted, D’banj added, “I would love to have Genevieve as my wife.  We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure.

Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.”
Perhaps the fans and admirers of the ‘love birds’ will have to brace themselves for a symbolic wedding of two of the most celebrated artistes on this side of the globe in the nearest future.
Meanwhile, D’banj plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his music career anytime in 2014.

As expected, the singer aims to roll out the proverbial drums to celebrate in style what he describes as the overwhelming success of his foray into the Nigerian music scene.

The one-time harmonica wielding artiste has, indeed, made tremendous progress in his career since his monster hit, ‘Tongolo’ was released in 2004.

The artiste, who wormed his way into the highly competitive international music market after signing on to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music in 2011, no doubt, has finally found his bearing as an entertainer since he parted ways with Mo’Hits.

“So much has happened in the last 18 months and I am very thankful to God. By the Grace of God, I have remained relevant for nearly a decade in the music industry and I have released hit songs every year. Also, I am glad that I have been chosen to headline the Hennessy Artistry this year. This is one brand that understands the importance of aligning with the entertainment industry.

“My career is barely 10 years old. But with the success I have achieved so far, it feels like three decades already. Within my first 10 years as a musician, I have recorded the biggest song and shot the most viewed music video of all time, ‘Oliver Twist’. I must say I am humbled and getting ready to take over,” he said.

Without mincing words, D’banj noted that the history of his career and the resulting accomplishments will be incomplete without mentioning his humble beginning with the defunct Mo’Hits Records. The mere mention of his erstwhile colleagues, including Don Jazzy, seemed to awaken nostalgic feelings in him.

“If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about Mo’Hits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train.

“Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, ‘Top of the World’ was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs ‘Finally’ and ‘Don’t Tell Me Nonsense’ was produced by my producer while ‘Oliver Twist’ was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why won’t I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?

“I have never said I am a musician; I am an entertainer. Some people say I can pick up a microphone and become a comedian. Therefore nobody should come and ask if I want to go into acting because they should know I am already an actor. It depends on when the right script and concept lands in my hands.

“For now, I am concerned about achieving new things and breaking new grounds. By the time I enter Hollywood, I believe that I’ll become as successful as I have been as a singer. The movie titled ‘I am Banga Lee’, starring Genevieve, to be released in 2014, won’t be a bad idea,” He said.
It seems that the world is at the Kokomaster’s feet. Yet, he is not in denial of the fact that his fans in Nigeria are his greatest assets.

“The Hennessey Artistry Tour afforded me the opportunity to meet my fans here in Nigeria. I have not travelled across the country in a long while because I am abroad all the time. Most of my fans complained that they have not seen me since 2007 and I reallised that I need to be in constant touch with my fans down here.”

YVONNE NELSON’S TWITTER ACCOUNT HACKED! SEE WHAT THE HACKERS WROTE

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson’s twitter account was hacked today. a group of Nigerian cyber-hoodlums, took over her account, and posted updates quiet uncharacteristic of the Beautiful actress.

The hackers posted insulting and damaging tweets, like  how she misses “gobbling on Iyanya’s ballz”, and how “Nigerian celebs are full of sh**t.”

The rather scandalous tweets, were un-intelligently put across so  most of her followers instantly knew it wasn’t her.

After about twenty minutes of back and forth tweet-damaging their way, Miss Nelson took over and informed her followers of the unfortunate incident. Check the tweets below.

OBOUR CALLS FOR UNITY IN FIPAG

President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice ‘Obuor’ Osei Kuffour has tasked members of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) to work together in unity to ensure that the organization remains strong.

In his solidarity message to FIPAG during their handing-over ceremony on Wednesday, Obour stated that the association would stand strong only if members put their differences behind them and worked together.

Earlier reports which circulated in the media suggested that the former FIPAG President Augustine Abbey, popularly known as Idikoko, wanted to hold on to power but other executives like Socrates Sarfo had to stand up to him.

This led to his defeat at the polls by current President of the association, Asare Hackman. As a result, factions where created in the association ranging from Hackman’s boys to Idikoko’s boys.

The ‘Konkontiba’ hit maker told the film makers that the key to the strength of any association “is working together as a team.

FIPAG is FIPAG because of people so the minute people decide to work together in unity, the better the organization can stand strong. As an association leader myself, I understand the frustration that the past president has gone through and the frustration that the current president will be going through so I share in their passion.”

As he congratulated the outgoing administration and incoming ones, Obour challenged the members of the association to hold the new administration to their word.

“I will also want to challenge the new leadership not to allow the bickering of elections to divide this group. Now there is a rebirth, there is a new FIPAG, let’s see that new FIPAG operates. I’m also challenging the members to hold their elected executives up on their word, let’s get them to do what they promised that they would do,” he said.

He urged the old administration to continue to provide counsel to the new executives.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the outgoing [leadership] led by Idikoko and his other executives. I want to challenge the old leadership that the fact that they are out of office doesn’t mean they are out of FIPAG, they should be able to work with the current leadership, share what they have learnt so that the continuity can go on.”

He called for a strong partnership between FIPAG and MUSIGA since they were all part of the creative arts industry.

“The future for the film industry is the creative arts industry and the future is collaborations so we believe strongly that as part of the new leadership, you would bear in mind that collaborating with the broader creative arts industry should be a key feature in your tenure of office where we can move from partnership and draw into bigger collaboration that can together yield results for the entire creative arts industry .

The success of the film industry is the success of the music industry because there can never be film without music,” he noted.

I CAN’T QUIT TV CAREER FOR ACTING- JOSELYN DUMAS

Her propelling role in ‘Northern Affair’ plus reports that Nollywood producers are chasing her has heightened speculations that Joselyn Dumas will soon consider full time acting career.

However, The One Show host and talented actress has said, “I love TV career” and adds she is not ready to quit anytime soon.

She told NEWS-ONE she is more than ready to juggle both careers until the end of time.

“I am not going to move from TV. I cannot move. I love TV. TV is my first love. I think it’s all about time management, I can do it.

You know, The One Show is on break. We will be back next year, God willing.

The other show I do on Africa Magic is canned so I can always…Like I said it’s all about time management and good management. And obviously I can’t let go off TV. TV is my first love and it will always be my first love. I love acting as well. So I will see how I can juggle both. I think I can,” she said.

Joselyn Dumas is playing Esaba Jomo, a nurse in the upcoming movie. Her character teams up with John Dumelo who is playing Dr. Manuel Quagraine in a small fishing village to provide healthcare. Sparks fly and the two begin to fall in love. But each one has a dark secret that will threaten whatever love they will share.

NEWS-ONE was on the set at Stone Lodge, a location at Asutsuare on Wednesday to find out more about what is happening on the set.

Joselyn is indeed enjoying good time on the set with other cast and crew. She is putting up her and best Leila is not having a tough time dealing with her.

She has good chemistry with John Dumelo. The shooting of their sex scene last Wednesday night raised eyebrows as director, Leila Djansi said, “great guys, you were great,” immediately the scene cut.

Both John and Joselyn are performing marvellously well and the set will move to Accra on Saturday for more interesting shooting.
Joselyn has so far described her experience on set and work with Leila as “great”.

“It’s great. It’s good. Leila is very good at what she does. She will take you through the scenes. She will also take you through the back story of the character and even before you shoot any scene, she will come and ask you, how are you feeling?

How do you see the character? And funny thing is everyone calls each individual by their casting name which I think is very good; you always have to be in character. Leila plays but when it’s business she’s very professional and I like her.

I am learning so much. I feel like I am back in the classroom learning a few more things where acting is concerned,” Joselyn added.

“People should expect to see a very good piece at the end of it all and also a lot of chemistry between John and myself on screen.

It is amazing. John gets along with everybody so it makes it very easy to work with him, just like Majid Michel. I work with Majid Michel as well and the two of them are so alike. They will help you through it. John has been around more than I have, so obviously he is more experienced. He walks me through the scene.”

An online report has claimed that popular Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako has allegedly confessed to have bleached her skin in order to keep her husband from poachers. According to the report, the busty actress allegedly admitted on a television programme monitored by it, to have changed from her former chocolate skin colour to her now-fair complexion skin colour.

"Foluke further confessed that she had to do that because she needed to ‘keep her man’ and added that it is also the special ‘thing’ among Nollywood actresses to do that," a part of the report said.

BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED WINNER, KAREN IGHO TELLS YVONNE NELSON TO GET A BOOB JOB FOR HER DRY BOOBS

As Yvonne Nelson continues to apologize on twitter for comments that came out from her account during a short period, when her account was ‘hacked’ many refuse to buy her explanation.

Big Brother Amplified winner, Karen Igho who was a recipient of some of the derogatory comments via Yvonne’s account, is clearly one of the many who does not believe that Yvonne Nelson was hacked. She took to twitter to tear the Ghanaian actress apart, after Yvonne made fun of her 'fake' boobs.

The tweet from Yvonne to Karen which started all this reads: "@Karen Igho ...Fake boobs...No wonder you don't have BF..."

Karen who believes Yvonne intentionally directed the tweets at her, went real hard on Yvonne with her reply.

Karen tweeted "Whats your name again? Who the beep! Maybe you should dried cares up boobs and then musicians will stop dumping your boney ass".

The BBA winner tweeted again calling Yvonne a attention seeker "Attention seeker claiming their accounts was hacked! That's a lame excuse for a publicity stunt! Grow up!"

Actress Yvonne Nelson is yet to reply Karen.
