I HAVE NO HAND IN EDUWOJI’S CASE – STAY J

News went viral online that the ‘Yenko nkoaa’ hit maker, Eduwoji has been arrested by the Ada Police on the Accra-Aflao highway on 7th August 2014 for illegally possessing a substance suspected to be marijuana.

However, Eduwoji has denied ever being arrested by any police for whatever reason. He is reported to have accused Hiplife artiste Stay J in an interview for spreading falsehood about him saying, “If I have featured you on a song and now you claim to be the owner of it fine, so why do you also spoil me including all my United Kingdom (UK) shows I was to do? And now since he (Stay Jay) sees my new song to be doing well, he is destroying my image, telling lies that police has arrested me.”

However, Stay J has said in an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show Brunch2Lunch that, he has nothing against Eduwoji to peddle any of such rumours about him.

According to Stay J, “I have no problem with Eduwoji. I heard the news just yesterday and I was wondering how this whole thing came about. I have no idea what is going on. I won’t go about destroying him to anyone for anything. I didn’t travel with him. I met him after he had performed at the show.”

Asked if he will take any legal actions against Eduwoji for accusing him wrongly, Stay J stated that his management will talk to Eduwoji’s and ask him to desist from tarnishing his image. “I am sure he just wants to ride on this to promote his song”, Stay J added.

Eduwoji and Stay J both laid claim to the ‘Yenko nkoaa’ song which was released in March 2011. According to Eduwoji, the song was a demo and he wanted to master it at Kaywa’s studio.

However, because they were both on the same record label, Under One Entertainment, the management suggested that Stay J should do the chorus which he did; that doesn’t make Stay J the owner of the song.

Contrary to that, Stay J said he only asked Eduwoji to sing on “Yen Ko nkoaa” because they were on the same record label.

LAWYER ELABORATES ON CASTRO'S SAGA-JOKES & LORD KENYA'S ORDER

A lawyer and intellectual property expert John Assan Benson has spoken to Flex newspaper on Friday 1st August, 2014 and has thrown lighter on intellectual property of creative artistes. He defined this property as any creation from one's mind.

He addressed various issues in the industries such are Lord Kenya's attempt to get all his songs out of play or out of public reach and also whether or not Castro can be sued for causing fear and panic if he is found or appears.

On Lord Kenya's issue, Lawyer Benson made it clear that he doesn't have any right whatsoever to deny the public from gaining access to his songs because he is now an evangelist and doesn't want to be associated with his past.

“I think his attempt is a wild goose chase,” the lawyer stated that Lord Kenya cannot tell people to stop playing his songs because he has changed.

There are two people involved with music such as producers, sound engineers and a host of others and importantly the public who patronize the music. Hence, Lord Kenya is not fair to these persons.

“If he has changed, he should have a new image rather than trying to deprive people of what they deserve to have," he stated.

On a rather serious but comical note, Lawyer Benson stated that Castro if he should resurface or appear on no circumstance can he be charged, sued or chastised on grounds that his disappearance was not a deliberate action.

Castro's situation is rather a disheartening one and on his appearance should be celebrated and not prosecuted (if only he did not hide himself).

In conclusion, Lawyer Benson urged artistes and people in the industry to learn more about copyright laws and other legal stuff connected to the industry and how to use them appropriately.

BULLDOG TRIAL ADJOURNED

The trial of Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson at an Accra Central Magistrate Court in connection with the murder of Fennec Okyere, manager of Kwaw Kese, who is popularly called Abodam, could not continue yesterday.

This was after the prosecuting officer in the case informed the court, presided over by Mavis Quainoo that the investigator was handling another murder trial and could, therefore, not make it to court.

According to him, the investigator would need at least a month to conclude his investigations.

He consequently prayed the court to adjourn the case for a month to enable the investigator prepare adequately.

The trial judge consequently adjourned the case to August 17, 2014.

The accused person was in court with his legal team, family and friends.

Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, aka Bulldog manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has been accused of murdering Fennec Okeyre.

Bulldog, 36, who also doubles as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bull Haus Entertainment, was picked up by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recently in Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra, as a prime suspect in Okyere’s death.

Bulldog has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

It would be recalled that last month; the court rejected a request from the prosecution for the accused person to provide a password to his mobile phone.

The trial judge rejected the request because the prosecution had not given any tangible reason to use a password.

Gary Nimako, counsel for Bulldog, opposed the move by the prosecution, insisting that the behaviour of prosecution was akin to embarking on a “fishing expedition.”

He said his client’s phone has not been mentioned in the matter before the court describing the attitude of the prosecutor as “witch hunting” rather than proper trial.

Counsel Nimako had argued that the charges leveled against his client could not hold because the prosecution had failed to link his client to Fennec’s murder.

An Accra High Court granted bail to Bulldog on May 27.

"I AM NOT STUPID", FUNNY FACE TELLS CHORKOR TROTRO PRODUCERS

Award-winning Actor/ Comedian, Funny face has confirmed rumor making rounds that he is out from the TV series that brought him to the limelight; Chorkor Trotro aired on TV3.

In a phone interview with Christian Adjei Frimpong host of 205 Total Entertainment on Channel R 92.7fm last week, the actor confirmed leaving the series but he asked to be allowed some two months to comment fully on the issue since he has been silent on the case for the past six months.

“This issue popped up for the past six months but because I have not made any comment, they are still using my image deceiving people that I am still with them," Funny Face lamented.

Adding that it is shocking, but his philosophy in life is simple because he believes all the wealth one can gain will not take him or her to heaven hence the calm approach to the issue and not that he is stupid or is afraid to react.

When asked how long he has been absent from set as a result of the purported issue, his answer was 'I have been out since January' due to the reason he is not ready to disclose but promised to let the cat out of the bag at the right time.

The comedian also lamented that the series has taken a lot out of him because lots of chances came his way, but he couldn't grab them all because of Chorkor Trotro, but he didn't complain because it is the series that made the other avenues came his way.

“I was the face of the Chorkor Trotro series so I couldn't move out for a moment” Funny Face noted citing that as the reason he missed an opportunity to star in movies in Ghana and Nigeria.

Summing up, the award-winning Actor/Comedian said fans should get ready for his upcoming project that will blow the mind of Ghana, Africa and the world, and it will be on our television screens soon.
