Sarkodie & R2Bees Threaten To Pull Out of "Top of The World Celebration" Concert

BET Awards winner Sarkodie and Dynamic duo R2Bees who have been billed to Perform alongside Pan Africa group P-Square; for the Malta Guinness sponsored “Top of the World Celebration” Concert have threatened to pull out of the show if organizers do not pay them $20, 000 each.

According Peacefmonline.com investigations they both agreed to take GH¢20,000 initially but they later came back today to tell Charter House, the organizers that they meant $20,000 and GH¢20,000 and as at the time of filing this report they were still insisting on being paid the amount $20,000 or they will not mount the stage come Saturday December 1.

Peacefmonline.com gather that Tema based Sarkodie and R2Bees made this sudden change of mind when they heard how much Nigerian duo P-Square charged to perform on the same stage. Peacefmonline.com further probe into the matter reveals that Pan-African group P-Square charged over $300,000 to perform on the show and this prompted the Ghanaian artistes to also demand more.

Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that organizers are not ready to pay the Ghanaian artistes that much so they may ordered all media houses to hold on with all commercials of the event which has names of the two artistes whiles they look for other artistes to replace them, if they are not able to come to an agreement with the two artistes by end of today.

This was very evident yesterday evening November 28, 2012 when the two Ghanaian artistes were conspicuously missing at Excel Night Club during the press soiree for the event scheduled to take place come Saturday December 1 at Independence Square in Accra.

Meanwhile headline act Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square fame were present to interact with press and to assure their Ghanaian fans that they are indeed in town ahead of the big day. During their interaction one of the duo asked why their Ghanaian colleagues Sarkodie and R2Bees were not present at the press soiree but neither the organizers Charter House nor officials from Malta Guinness were able give any reason for their absence.

Peacefmonline.com investigations revealed that Sarkodie gave organizers prior notice of his absence because he was on location in the Eastern region shooting a new music video the same time the press soiree was going on.

However, Peacefmonline.com was reliably informed that Tema based R2Bees confirmed to organizers through their manger Ike that they would be present but for some reason they decided not come.

The two artistes refused to perform last Saturday at the “Joy FM Nite with the Stars” due to some misunderstanding backstage between Kwaw Kesse and VIP, so their absence yesterday has raised a lot of questions as to whether they will mount the stage on Saturday or not but as it stands now they may not perform.

Peter and Paul however, assured the press and their Ghanaian fans that they will perform for over 2 hours with their 11-member band with countless dance moves and make sure that the experience will remain in the memory of Ghanaians for a very long time.

The event is also expected to witness Ghana’s biggest flash mob yet, with a special ‘Chop My Money’ celebration dance to go with it. Visit www.youtube.com/topoftheworlddance and learn the celebration dance now.

Attendance is invitation only, thus, free tickets can be won by participating in any of the various call-ins on air or visit www.facebook.com/maltaguinnessghana, like the page, and pick up your invitation from the Malta Guinness stand in front of Shoprite at the Accra Mall. It’s going to be the biggest, exciting and exhilarating concert before the December 7, general election.

Psquare reacts to awards schemes in Ghana

Psquare expressed their joy towards the award given to them by 4Syte TV during the recently concluded MTN 4Syte Music Video awards in Ghana.

According to them, they aren’t new to receiving accolades because they are now used to the feat. They jokingly insinuated that of all countries in the world where they have gotten recognized, it is only in their own country that some kind of
ojoro shows its ugly head.

Representatives of 4Syte TV were unable to hand over the award to them, perhaps before the dancing duo leave, efforts would be made to hand over the gong to them. They were very grateful to the organizers for the recognition.

However they acknowledged that one of the awards received during their senior high school days still remains very significant to them, and so an award may seem small but still it is those small and simple ones that mean a lot to them.

They are in Ghana for a great performance, come December 1 at the Independence Square, on the bill of Malta Guinness.
