Reports that reached NEWS-ONE at press time Thursday said gospel musician Superintendent Kofi Sarpong and ace stand-up comedian DBK have contacted their respective lawyers and instructed that sensational musician Akoo Nana be dragged to court.
The two are vexed over public comments by Akoo Nana that he was flirting with their wives.
Akoo, in his recent freestyle single,
‘Yawa’, had bragged that the lovers and spouses of Ghanaian musicians
cannot be trusted because a good number of them are making advances at
him.
Akoo specifically mentioned the names of Kofi
Sarpong and DKB as some of the persons whose ‘women’ are making amorous
advances at him.
DKB was the first to state publicly that he finds Akoo Nana’s song to be offensive and that his lawyers would soon take up the matter.
“I’m disappointed in Akoo Nana; I swear…he will hear from my lawyers… People will forgive him, but I wouldn’t, he can’t take people for granted,” he said. A representative from the management team of Kofi Sarpong also spoke to NEWS-ONE about the issue yesterday.
“Akoo Nana
has bitten more than he can chew. His song is a stupid one, and
annoyingly he is saying it was not just a song. We would sue him. Kofi
Sarpong is a married man and a senior police officer and a gospel
musician. How can you say his wife is chasing you and get away with this? The laws of Ghana do not allow that,” the source noted.
But Akoo seems the least perturbed about the pending lawsuits.
“It was not
just a song I was singing; I was communicating a message to drive home a
lesson because he knows what I am talking about, but he is not man
enough to admit it,” Akoo told NEWS-ONE.
