BANDEX MUST WITHDRAW STATEMENT MADE AGAINST SONY ACHIBA

A group of Ghanaian hiplife artistes have called on Ahmed Banda, music and movie producer to withdraw the statement he made against one of their colleagues, Sony Achiba, that Sony washes plates in London for a living.

Ahmed Banda known in showbiz scene as Bandex on January 25 this year said on Adom FM Entertainment Review programme hosted by Kojo Preko that Sony Achiba, who could not survive in the music industry, was now based in London washing plates for a living.

He could, however, not provide any evidence to buttress his claim.

The hiplife artistes explained that Bandex’s statement was not only to tarnish the image of the artistes but also to destroy his career. They, however, advised him to withdraw and render an apology to Sony Achiba.

They said there was no truth in the statement, adding that they were surprised that Bandax who did not know much about Sony Achiba would manufacture such a lie about him to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.

When Bandex was contacted he explained that he used Sony Achiba as an example that some Ghanaian artistes who could not survive in the music industry had travelled to Europe to do menial jobs.

Bandex was quick to say that it was not his intention to tarnish Sony’s image as people are speculating.

BEATWAVES gathered that Sony Achiba is still in the music industry doing everything possible to push Ghanaian music to the international level.
