OKYEAME KWAME GRATEFUL...

Ghana’s celebrated artiste, Kwame Nsiah Apau, known in music scene as Okyeame Kwame, has expressed profound gratitude to all his fans for the support given him throughout the years which has enabled him to chalk such success in his musical career since he joined the music industry in Ghana.

Okyeame, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of One Mic Entertainment, his record label, stressed that if he had made relevant strides in his musical career, his fans and Ghanaians must be commended for their support and encouragement.

“I thank them for their loyalty and support all these years. I’ve enjoyed the support of many Ghanaians, right from my days with Akyeame till now and I’m very grateful for that,” he told BEATWAVES.

Due to the huge success that the Okyeame Kwame Hepatitis B Foundation has chalked in terms of its nationwide screening drive and awareness creation, the 2009 Artiste of the Year again expressed his profound gratitude to MTN Ghana Foundation and MDS Lancet Laboratory for the support they have given the foundation.

Okyeame Kwame, who is the brain behind the foundation, explained that if the foundation had made relevant strides in offering free Hepatitis B screening to Ghanaians within such a brief period of time, then MTN and medical personnel from MDS Lancet Laboratory must be commended for their support.

Okyeame also thanked the public and his music fans for turning up anytime there was a screening exercise, and also patronizing his albums from which he got additional funding to support the screening.

He however advised the Ghanaian youth to take Hepatitis B screening very seriously “because Hepatitis B is a preventable disease and AIDS is not. So they shouldn’t fear when coming to screen.”

Kwame Nsiah Apau, whose music and stagecraft has gone down well with music fans, in December, last year, launched a series of digital interactive platforms which would allow him to take his music directly to his fans.

Known for his versatility, Okyeame Kwame also known as Rap Doctor, after 16 years in the music industry, is coming up with a whole new phase of musical album titled ‘African Connection’. The 16-track album, which he featured 16 artistes will be released on the Ghanaian music market this year.

According to the Rap Doctor, the ‘African Connection’ album features the likes of HHP from South Africa, Navio from Uganda, Jaguar from Kenya and J. Martins from Nigeria.
