I WON’T QUIT PRODUCING MOVIES - ACTRESS

Actress Zynnell Lydia Zuh’s decision to remain behind the cameras as a movie producer appears shaky as she has told NEWS-ONE that production is more stressful than she expected.

The beautiful actress announced in October last year that she was going into movie production after 10 years of acting.

The pronouncement came with the production of her first movie titled, ‘When Love Comes Around’ starring Jim Iyke and Eku Edewor from Nigeria, Pierra Makena (Kenya) among others.

The movie which was produced by Zynnell’s Five Star Pictures Production, is currently on the editing bench and would hit the big screens very soon.

According to Zynnell, though producing her first movie was stressful, she would not give up on producing because she had come to love the process of filmmaking.

“Producing has made me appreciate the filmmaking process more as I am more involved with all the aspects of filmmaking…As an actress my job is limited to reading the script, understanding the story, my character and delivering once I hear ‘action’. But as a producer, my responsibilities include script choice, assembling the right cast and crew and finding markets and opportunities for the film as soon as it is ready. Will I produce again?…Hmmm. If I think about the stress of producing my first film I would say no but I have come to love the process of filmmaking and I am sure if I find a story worth telling I would do this all over again. Besides, it gets easier the more you do it right,” she said.

Zynnell has been in Ghana’s movie industry since 2004. After high school, she began auditioning for roles. She auditioned for a lead role in TV series titled ‘Sticking To The Promise’ by Point Blank Media.

Fortunately, she won the role, playing a twin to another actress. From there, she was discovered by Director/Producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso, who auditioned and featured her in ‘Different Shades of Blue’ TV series and a cameo role in her movie, ‘Life and Living It’. She has since featured in a number of Ghanaian movies.
