Rapper and songwriter Asem has a way
of courting controversy. This time, he has jumped to the defence of a
young lady he brought on stage as a dancer during the ‘Glo Slide and
Bounce’ concert.
The ‘Give Me Blow’ singer introduced the lady whose semi-nude body was covered in what appeared to be baby oil, as the girl behind his famous ‘Pigaro’ song on Saturday. Her erogenous dance moves left both the crowd and Asem breathless after his thrilling performance at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A section of the Ghanaian public present at the event were quick to conclude that Asem had brought on stage a ‘wild dancer’ with some even describing her as a prostitute, NEWS-ONE gathered.
But Asem, who appeared to be enjoying the dangerous dance moves of his dancer, took to his twitter page to explain that the girl was just a “dancer and a model, not a prostitute.”
“She is not a prostitute, she is just an artiste and a model. We Are Artistes with Art In Our Genes,” the ‘Bye Bye’ hit maker tweeted.
Asem, who has over 35,000 followers on the social platform Twitter.com and equally large following on Facebook, gave the crowd a taste of his new single titled “Big Johnny”.
Nana Wiafe Asante-Mensah, as he is also known, is scheduled to perform alongside Reggie Rockstone, KwabenaKwabena, Sherifa Gunu among others at the ‘Glo Slide and Bounce’ concert, which is slated for November 24 at Takoradi in the Western Region.
“The Greatest Feeling In The World Is Getting A Great Reaction From A Positive Action, I Miss The Stage N Fans,” Asem added.
