JUPITAR WALKS OFF STAGE @ HO POLYTECHNIC

Upcoming Ghanaian dancehall superstar, Jupitar says he will no longer be taken advantage of by organizers trying to capitalize off his hard work. “Do they even know how much it costs to record a track?” he says in anger as he refuses to go on stage at Ho Polytechnic for a concert last night, 22nd Nov.

The event organizers failed to meet the terms and conditions regarding payment and thought that Jupitar, who is usually very easy going and friendly would accept a last minute breach in contract.

He decided to put his foot down and shock them by refusing to perform until the terms were met. “It is time that Ghanaian artistes respect themselves and put an end to this exploitation!”

He went on to complain about how event organizers tend to publicize shows before they have even made the artiste aware that they are on the bill and pay peanuts compared to what they are making from gate fee! “It’s not about the money” he explains, “but I have paid my dues to get this far, it’s time I think about myself.

At this point in his career, after being recognized as Discovery of the Year at the maiden edition of the BASS Awards and the 2013 MTN 4Syte MVA’s, he has decided to rebrand himself as he prepares to release his album next year.

“This is the beginning of a new cycle and it starts from here” says Jupitar aka Di General. “If I respect myself, I know my fans will respect me too and if event organizers can’t behave professionally, I would rather put up my own shows!”

Needless to say, hundreds of Jupitar fans left the venue disappointed but they should look forward to him coming back to that region very soon to grace them with his spectacular showmanship.
