The celebrated highlife musician, Thomas Frimpong, whose untimely death
occurred at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on September 18, after an
undisclosed illness will be buried in his hometown, Kumawu, in the
Ashanti Region on December 5.
This was made known by Mrs. Joyce Frimpong, wife of the late musician, when BEATWAVES in the company of Abrantie Amakye and former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Alhaji Sidiku Buari, visited her at her Chantan residence in Accra over the weekend to console her.
In a chat, Mrs Frimpong disclosed that preparations were far advanced to give her late husband a befitting burial, adding, “I will bury my husband on December 5 at Kumawu and after the burial, the funeral ceremony will be held in Accra at the Mile Seven School Park.”
Mrs. Frimpong said when she got wind of her husband’s death; she could not believe that Thomas was really dead until she saw the body.
“I have not been myself since then and even now after spending thousands of cedis to keep him alive. We cannot challenge God’s decision. I can never forget Thomas because he was a loving husband,” she said.
