Man shot dead by friend at Vienna Nite Club

A young man believed to be in his mid 30s was shot dead Monday dawn at the Vienna Nite Club in Tema by his friend after he tried to stop the friend from firing a warning shot.

The man, whose name was only given as Arimi, was a car dealer who had gone to the club to chill with his friends when the unfortunate incident happened.

A source told  that the deceased was “separating a fight between his friend and some guys at the Vienna Nite Club Monday dawn. His friend pulled out his gun to give a warning shot and he tried to stop him and his friend mistakenly shot him.”

Other sources said the friend of the deceased who fired the gun hopped into his car and left the scene after the incident and is currently on the run.

An eyewitness narrated that “a man was giving warning shots and he confronted the man and told him to calm down before we realize the man shot him in the head and run away with his car...Arimi died on the spot,” he added.

As at the time of filing this report, Islamic rituals were being held, since the deceased is a Muslim, at the Tema Community 9 Mosque for his final interment.
