Kukere singer, Iyanya Mbuk, according to reports is wanted by the Police at Mile 3 Division, Port Harcourt, Nigeria over a fraudulent act.
According to the story, the R&B singer allegedly defrauded popular show organizer of 'Nite Of A Thousand Laughs’, Opa Williams of N1.7m (US$ 10,848.76) being payment for the singer’s performance at two events.
According to sources Iyanya was paid the said amount to perform at two ‘Nite of a Thousand Laughs’ events which was held in Benin State and Port Harcourt.
The Kukere singer missed both shows. Guests had waited for the singer to step on stage and thrill them but he was conspicuously missing.
"We were all disappointed, we waited in vain. As soon as Bovi announced he was not going to show up, everybody started leaving", a source who attended the event held at the open ground of the Hotel Presidential, PH said.
Nigeriafilms.com gathered that the singer shunned Opa Williams’ event, performing instead, at another show in Omuma Local Government Area, also in Port Harcourt which also featured Timaya.
Thursday morning, sources say Policemen from the Nigerian Police invited Iyanya and his manager Ubi-Franklin Ekapong for questioning over the matter which was reported by the show organizers led by Opa Williams.
Officers could only get Ubi-Franklin to station but Ubi said, "Yes I was at the Police Station this morning, we have decided to return all money paid to us, it’s not a problem."
Ubi further explained, "We were paid to attend and perform at the Benin State and Port Harcourt shows but we missed both due to reasons beyond our control.”
He added that, “We missed the Benin gig because we were in Ghana as at that time and we arrived pretty late for the PH gig. We however had issues with initial payment from the show organizers also, so we needed to forfeit one for another."

Promote Indigenous Ghanaian Content – Kojo Antwi
Legendary Ghanaian musician, KOJO Antwi, is calling for the establishment of a ministry specifically tasked to manage the entertainment industry of Ghana.
In an interview on Kumasi based Ultimate Radio 106.9 with Kojo Akoto Boateng, the multiple award winning musician said establishing a Ministry of Entertainment is among the top three things he wishes to happen in 2013.
“What I’d like is to have a Ministry of Entertainment. I don’t think it is right that the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture oversee the entertainment sector. We need a ministry which will primarily ensure the growth of the industry”, he said.
The ‘Dadie Anoma’ hit maker also wants the general elections moved from December to November.
According to him, moving the general elections to November will prevent the slowing down of entertainment activities during the festive season of election years.
Kojo Antwi rocked Ghana on the 24th of December 2012 and says he’s ever ready to give Ghanaian a lot more in 2013 and a brand new album.
He further added that if he had the power to change anything in 2012, he would “ensure that the media promote indigenous Ghanaian content such that every genre would have a fair share of the market”.
“My new year message to all and sundry is that we have to be grateful to God that we are still alive. It’s great to be Ghanaian. I know we’ve discovered more oil and Ghana will be greater. We should be proud of our nation and I know 2013 will be a greater year for Ghana”, he added.

Big Brother Africa 2013 Search begins Jan. 8
Pay-per-view cable television provider MNet has said the search for housemates for the 2013 edition of the Big Brother Africa reality television show, begins on January 8.
“The demand from audiences for Big Brother Africa continues undimmed. In some ways it really is astonishing to see the enthusiasm for this particular series, but in other ways it is to be expected,” M-Net Africa Managing Director says.
“Viewers want to see unscripted television, as it happens, with normal people that they can relate to dealing with completely familiar emotional concepts – happiness, frustration, success, failure, hope, anxiety, friendship, opportunity and of course, love.
“Big Brother continues to be a ratings sensation from Australia to India, and in Africa, for exactly this reason. And the format’s flexibility is a producers’ dream because you can do something different every time!” he adds.
“We are delighted with the new concept that has been developed for the upcoming show,” says Endemol MD Sivan Pillay.
“Every year as soon as we know that we are going ahead with a new season, we head into a creative brainstorming session and every year, ideas just go racing around the room.
Dates and venues are yet to be announced.
It’s not my fault that my body is pornographic - Lydia Forson
Actress Lydia Forson has opened up on just how she feels about her plump and beautiful body.
“It’s not my fault that my body is pornographic,” she told Fashion 101 host Sandra Ankobiah.
Forson’s rather sexy and well-toned plum body seems to have stirred up a lot of debate over the past few years, with some appreciating her all-figured-out and nicely-shaped contours.
The award-winning actress however said discovering who she was, really helped in appreciating her natural and God-given looks, caring less about what others taught about her.
“For years I did not think I was so beautiful,” she says. “For years I went through a lot trying to be what others wanted me to be.”
Talking more on her sense of fashion, Lydia, who usually comes under criticism from sections of the public for revealing just too much of her cleavage at times said: “I don’t like to show them, they are there…”
“Comfort is key. I don’t really follow trends. What works for one person doesn’t work for another.
“If you are confident in what you are wearing, the rest of the world would always think otherwise... I love to be comfortable and just to be me. I always want a touch of edginess in everything I do”.
Forson jokingly added that she “wouldn't mind a spread” in the world-famous Playboy magazine, insisting that “I feel we should celebrate who we are”.
