Promote Indigenous Ghanaian Content – Kojo Antwi

Legendary Ghanaian musician, KOJO Antwi, is calling for the establishment of a ministry specifically tasked to manage the entertainment industry of Ghana.

In an interview on Kumasi based Ultimate Radio 106.9 with Kojo Akoto Boateng, the multiple award winning musician said establishing a Ministry of Entertainment is among the top three things he wishes to happen in 2013.

“What I’d like is to have a Ministry of Entertainment. I don’t think it is right that the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture oversee the entertainment sector. We need a ministry which will primarily ensure the growth of the industry”, he said.

The ‘Dadie Anoma’ hit maker also wants the general elections moved from December to November.

According to him, moving the general elections to November will prevent the slowing down of entertainment activities during the festive season of election years.

Kojo Antwi rocked Ghana on the 24th of December 2012 and says he’s ever ready to give Ghanaian a lot more in 2013 and a brand new album.

He further added that if he had the power to change anything in 2012, he would “ensure that the media promote indigenous Ghanaian content such that every genre would have a fair share of the market”.

“My new year message to all and sundry is that we have to be grateful to God that we are still alive. It’s great to be Ghanaian. I know we’ve discovered more oil and Ghana will be greater. We should be proud of our nation and I know 2013 will be a greater year for Ghana”, he added.
