Until I win the Grammy Awards, I will NOT marry – Efya

All you guys dreaming of ever snatching and
dragging Efya to the altar to say “I do” better
forget it, for she is not interested in marriage,
at least not in the near future.

Ghana’s best and reigning Female Vocalist of the Year in an interview revealed that marriage is
out of the question until she wins a Grammy
award. According to her, she doesn’t want to be known only in Ghana but trans-continents.

”Whatever needs to be done in making the dream a reality is underway and until death do
us part, it is achievable. Unless I die in the
process, it is something I want and until I get it,
I am not going off the road,” she stated.

Efya has released a mixtape ahead of her album
launch which will take a form of tour both
locally and internationally.

Despite her intentions to hold off marriage for
the time being, she still wants to be a mother
someday when the opportunity presents itself.

“Love is real but self love is better. I only want
to have one kid who will come at the right time
and not now.”

I haven’t kissed anyone yet – Rahim

Precocious actor Rahim Banda who began making a name after his appearances in Masters of the Game and Behind The Mask, says that he has not kissed anyone in a movie yet but he would not mind doing so if the conditions are good.

Rahim who started acting three years ago told Showbiz last Monday that there is no small role or big role so far as acting is concern.

“Although I am a child, I can do anything so far as acting is concerned. No role is small or big for me as an actor who is determined to make it big”, Rahim revealed.

Rahim who won Best Actor In A Supporting Role in 2012 with movie Wipe My Tears said he would kiss any actress if he was paid well.
According to him, it might sound weird to many people but he can kiss any actress so far as acting is concerned.

“If the money is good, I don’t mind kissing any actress but this is not to say I am a bad boy” Rahim stated.
Although he claims he could kiss any actress in movies, Rahim who has acted alongside A-list actors such as Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, John Dumelo and Prince David Osei said it has never cressed his mind to play romantic scenes. “I guess I’m too young for that”, he told Showbiz.

A JSS 1 student of Glow Lamp International School, Rahim who is also known for movies Beast, Stand By Me and Millions said it is not difficult merging acting and schooling together because he never goes on set when school is in session..

“I might have problems with my studies if I was combining acting and schooling and my dad would not even allow me to combine the two. I never go on set when school re-opens; I only shoot when I am on vacation”. Rahim said.

It is Rahim’s aim to be an IT specialist in future.

Dr. Paa Bobo is not dead

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) wishes to inform music enthusiasts, fans of the legendaryDr. Paa Bobo and Ghanaians in general that the highlife great is alive, contrary to news making rounds about his demise.

The Union, which has been in close contact with the musician and the family, can confirm that he is alive and recuperating.

Dr. Paa Bobo has been ill for a while and on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Doctors are working tirelessly to ensure that the highlife legend gets better and recovers fully.

MUSIGA therefore entreats the public to treat with contempt and disregard news about the death of Dr. Paa Bobo.

I HAVE NO BAD INTENTIONS AGAINST KWAKU MANU - LILWIN SPEAKS

Most popular Ghanaian movie comedian and musician present Kwadjo Nkansah Lilwin has asked fellow actor and comedian Kwaku Manu to dispel rumours or thoughts of bad intentions against him in an interview with Dave Hammer of Hello Fm.

In an interview that saw Kwaku Manu speak of the sudden change of character and behaviour towards him by Kwadjo Nkansah Lilwin although they used to be cool friends, he narrated recent incidence where Lilwin had declined to star in movies in which he (Kwaku Manu) had starred in and Lilwin’s decision not to inform him of the funeral celebrations of his father who recently passed away.

He also recounted a superstitious incidence where he came home to meet a broom turned upside down in water although he did not accuse of Lilwin of that.

In a response to the accusations, Lilwin who was on his way to Kumasi from Accra after Becca’s Girls’ Concert disclosed it was very unfortunate to hear such a story and invoked the gods to kill him if he ever had any evil or bad intentions against Kwaku Manu or any other person.

He disclosed he had been busy with a lot of movies and as result found it very difficult meeting up with Kwaku Manu on the same set.

“You know, I don’t take money from film makers before the movies so that I don’t get bound and can feel free to be on any set that needs me most, that’s why we’ve not met and it’s not intentional. Talking of me not informing him of my father’s funeral as well, my brother was traveling to the States and I knew he couldn’t make it. i even called Agya Koo several times and was on all occasions informed by his assistant Agya will call me but never heard from him so I felt I was disturbing him and stopped.”

Nana Ama McBrown who was in the studio however talked to both parties to remain calm and not accuse each other.

WHO HOSTS 2013 KUMAWOOD & AKOBEN MOVIE AWARDS?

As time fast approaches Friday, December 27, the question on most Ghanaians lips is, who hosts this year’s Kumawood and Akoben Movie Awards?

Last year’s event saw a picturesque collaboration between morning show host Kwame Adinkra and Irin of GTV as they geared the affairs of the show but the host of this year’s awards ceremony has not been disclosed despite the number of days left for the event.

Organisers of the awards have kept mum about hosts of the awards but close sources have disclosed to us that a popular male radio presenter and one Kumawood superstar will be hosting the show.

Who could these two personalities be?

Kumawood and Akoben Movie Awards come off on Friday, December 27 2013 at the True Vine Hotel, Ahodwo, Kumasi.

DESMOND ELLIOT IN ROMANCE CONTROVERSY WITH BLOOD SISTERS

Star actor, Desmond Elliot is in the middle of a serious controversy. The handsome Nollywood top shot, National Enquirer gathered is presently in a sizzling romance with two blood sisters and this has been causing squabbles between the half-caste ladies of same parents, Roseline and Yvette Muere.

According to one of Desmond’s close friends, the actor has been secretly stepping out with the two sisters separately and as at the last time, he was spotted with the eldest, Roseline Muerer at the just concluded Nollywood at 20 event which held at the prestigious Intercontinental hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Though not so many people is aware that they came together, the “couple” who came in same car stylishly stepped into the hall in a ‘CODED’ manner to deceive the public.

And in another development, Desmond whose wife has bore him 2 set of twins has also been seen with the youngest Muerer, Yvette at The Mall, where they went to see movies together, he has also flown the teenage girl to several movie sets in Calabar and as a matter of fact, the school certificate holder, Yvette has once crashed Desmond’s coupe’s car which she cruises around.

Tracing the genesis of their relationship, we gathered that, the beautiful Roseline sought Desmond’s help to make her an actress and no sooner they met than he (Desmond) featured her to star alongside notable faces like Uti Nwachukwu, Ini Edo, Lydia Forson, Morris Sesay in one of the films he directed, In The Cupboard, a story that revolves around the lives of six siblings born into the rich, aristocratic Desouza family; a name synonymous with wealth & power, the rest as they say has been history.

The source told National Enquirer further that Desmond and Roseline’s affair blossomed to the extent that, Rose’s mum got wind of it, this was what informed the closeness of Rose younger sister, Yvette and before anybody could say Jack Robinson, the teenage girl had moved in with Desmond in his matrimonial home in Lekki without her sister’s consent, and meanwhile Desmond’s wife has since been in the US where she was delivered of their second set of twins.

Bubble however burst when Yvette’s whereabouts was unknown and Rose’s efforts to visit her boyfriend who had paraded and introduced her to friends as the new woman in his life were abortive, this aroused suspicion as Rose had to confront her sister to tell her of her hidden place. INI EDO STEPS OUT WITH HUSBAND (PHOTOS)

Nollywood superstar Ini Edo and her hubby Phillip Ehiagwina made a rare red carpet appearance together at the Nollywood Christmas Event.

The event took place on Saturday 21st December 2013 at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Some of your favourite Nigerian actors and actress including Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Desmond Elliot, Oge Okoye, Monalisa Chinda and Susan Peters, were present at the event.

The actress arrived on the scene in a black long sleeve dress. She styled the dress with a gold necklace, a gold belt to accentuate her curves, a gold wrist watch, a brown leather bag, and brown leather sandals.

Her look was completed with long locks, smouldering eyes and red lipstick. Her other accessory was her leading man Phillip Ehiagwina who looked simple in a navy blazer, print shirt and jeans.
