EVEN A BIG SCAR CAN’T TAKE AWAY NANA AMA MCBROWN’S BEAUTY & CONFIDENCE

Nana Ama McBrown has definitely bounced back stronger and prettier—-after the car accident involving her and BF-Maxwell Mensah earlier this year…

With a lot of treatments and surgery out there, some people thought the actress would be bothered about the scar on her right arm such that, she would opt to get it covered…

But it seems, she will leave it there as it takes nothing much from her beauty and self confidence.

Nana Ama McBrown is very comfortable with showing people her scar—-as a mark of how much God loves her to have saved her from the car accident.

And as such, we do not think she will be jumping unto any treatment to get rid of it…

SHATTA WALE IS A REAL TALENT - SAMINI

Having been away for three months in North America and Canada, Ghanaian dancehall artiste and CEO (Crucial Entertainment Outlaw) of music, Samini , says his fans should watch out for bigger things to come from him.

When JoyNews on MultiTV's entertainment programme, THE WHITE CARPET played host to him on its celebrity hangout segment, Samini said whilst in the United States he performed at four different concerts but looked forward to coming back home to give his fans enough reason to continue loving him.

Samini said his major stage appearance since his return is the Kwabena Kwabena Save a Life Concert.

On the issue of speculations of a feud between Nigeria's Wizkid and Ghanaian hiplife group R2Bees Samini said there is no grudge and that Mugeez of R2Bees will find it funny to hear that people think they are not on good terms.

He explained the song in question, 'TIME BOMB' which features Wizkid was originally supposed to also feature Mugeez of R2Bees. But Mugeez thought it brilliant to step back and allow just him and Wizkid to be on it. Samini blamed promoters for his inability to perform together with Wizkid on 'TIME BOMB' during the recent Ghana meets Nija concert.

“A lot of things made it difficult for the performance to go down. The promoters should have co-ordinated to see how they wanted the performances to go. It was minutes to the show when they told Wizkid to perform 'Time Bomb' with me before he leaves the stage and I guess he also had his plan of performance he wanted to do. That was the excuse they gave so it was difficult blending”.

Contrary to reports that his song PINK SHEET was directed at his fellow musicians, Samini tried to clear the air that it was just a harmless mix-tape on real talents who last in the industry.

On his relationship with self-acclaimed dancehall King, Shata Wale and whether he is a real talent who would last, Samini said he does not wish him to fade anytime soon. “I think he is a very talented person. He is a real talent”.

Samini sought to clarify more issues he had refrained to comment on for all this while. He said Kaakie, the dancehall queen is not his girlfriend. “I'm not dating Kaakie, she’s is a baby. Am even looking forward to whoever is brave to wanna handle my little girl..."

Samini, who has been in the music industry for about a decade since age 21 says he is just about starting his music career, indicating to show host, Gladys Osei Owiredu how much music he still has in him.

The well composed Samini who sounded like a legend said "for the strength of the dancehall music industry, it will be heavy to do a beat with Stone Bouy, Shata Wale, Kaakie, Jupiter" and a host of them.

Samini is currently working on his new album, NEXT PAGE which will be outdoored soon. Reports reaching 'The White Carpet' indicates Samini will soon become the owner of a pub and restaurant here in Accra.

CHRIS BROWN ENTERS REHAB

The R&B singer, Chris Brown  has finally decided he needs help to control his anger.
The singer who was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Sunday after he and his bodyguard allegedly got into an altercation with a man outside of the W Hotel, "has elected to enter a rehab facility," his rep tells omg! in a statement.

"His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

According to Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, the 24-year-old Grammy winner is being treated for anger issues.

"We talked today and he said, 'I want to take some time and do a little introspection and understand everything that's going on around me,'" Geragos told the New York Daily News. "It was his decision, and he should be applauded."

On Monday, the assault charge against Brown stemming from the weekend brawl was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. He has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of attacking, and is due back in court on November 25.

Since Brown is still on probation for the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, any arrest could lead to jail time for the singer, who hasn't exactly been on his best behavior.

In May, he was accused of a hit-and-run following a minor accident in L.A., where the driver claimed he "went ballistic" after his Range Rover rear-ended her Mercedes. Though the charge was dismissed, Brown wasn't happy when he was sentenced to an additional 1,000 hours of community service after officials accused him of not having completed the 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented service" he was ordered to do as part of his 2009 assault rap.

DEMAND YOUR ROYALTIES - BESSA SIMONS

Accomplished Highlife musician and member of the legendary Osibisa group, Bessa Simons of “Belembe” fame has charged young talented musicians whose hit songs receive radio and TV air play, to be interested and ask questions about payment of their royalties.

He warned that, a chunk of their pensions are being eroded, as well as the financial support needed to develop their career.

He bemoaned the fruitless efforts made in the past to protect and reward intellectual property, saying, he is hopeful nonetheless that, the recently established Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO, whose role it is  to collect  royalties will do a good job in resolving the problems of the creative arts industry, working collectively with MUSIGHA and the Copyright Office.

Contributing to a conversation on Tarzan’s Take on Multi TV, on the journey of highlife music, Bessa recounted the days when Ghana was very vibrant with lots of highlife musicians over a decade ago, saying that, the country became difficult economically, ‘’hence many musicians leaving the shores of Ghana because there was no  night life’’.

The exodus of drummers, artists, keyboardists, guitarists and other instrumentalists to Europe, gave rise to a new genre called Burger highlife.

This era gave birth to highlife icons such as Ben Brako, George Darko, Daddy Lumba, Nana Acheampong, Paapa Yankson, Jewel Ackah and many others.

The Internationalisation of highlife, according to him, meant that highlife was now being played with synthesizers, drum machines and all kinds of modern gadgets. He further remarked that, fusion of highlife with other international music was the hallmark of Osibisa, which gained them international recognition.

Dr Charles Wereko Brobby, host of the programme was worried about the trend where musicians retired in poverty after many years of active service, and appealed to the sector Minister to enforce existing laws to protect the interests of creative artistes

Prof. John Collins, an author, musicologist and museum keeper, who was also guest on the programme, made reference to the practice in Nigeria where the music union, in a bid to ensure that musicians receive due payments for their works,   strictly monitors and logs the number of times an artiste’s music is played on the airwaves . Defaulters are dragged to court, and action is taken to reward penalties.

OKYEAME KWAME IS DETAILED – E.L.

In the face of stiff competition in the budding Ghana Music Industry, it’s rare for a talented rapper to eulogize another rapper and say all the good things about him when the person in the picture is considered as a competitor in the game too.

For E.L., real name Elorm Adablah, he feels Okyeame Kwame is arguably the most serious rapper that he has ever worked with. In fact, he did not mince words that, he relished working with him due to his honesty as a rapper and two; his penchant to make sure his song comes out nicely.

Even though he is relatively new in the music business in Ghana, E.L. can boast of a tall list of musicians that he has worked with. The list includes both new and established musicians.

This means, he has gotten lots of experience not only as a rapper but as a music producer too, with the rap doctor as the latest artiste to work with the BBNZ Live artiste.

E.L. worked on Okyeame Kwame’s highly anticipated inspiration song titled “Try (One More Time” featuring Nigeria’s singing sensation, J Martins which was released yesterday Monday October 28, 2013. This is what E.L. has to say about Okyeame Kwame, “I have worked with many artistes as you may know but Okyeame Kwame is different”, he said with a serious face.

He paused for a few seconds to attend to his dog called Selassie, who was barking as a result of my presence in the studio. He continued after the rude interruption, “Okyeame is very detailed”.
According to information, Okyeame Kwame on countless occasions visited the Ring Road based BBNZ Live Studio to have several changes done to the song “Try”.

Unlike other rappers, E.L. said “Okyeame Kwame knows what he wanted from day one, which makes working with him trouble-free” and that explains why he constantly called on him concerning the song.

Even though he failed to mention the specific amount he charges for producing a single song, he answered “E.L. is very expensive”, when asked how much he charges as a producer. He was however economical with words concerning how much was paid for the song.

He said he sees Okyeame Kwame as a true brother, so he didn’t charge him but was satisfied with the appreciation he (Okyeame) shown him.

E.L. believes “Try” will inspire people whenever they listen to it. He thanked Okyeame for allowing him to work on the project.

He said “Try” is about people who have tried, who are trying, we are telling them to try another time. No matter how hard you have tried, if you have not seen what you need to see, try another time.”

FUNNY FACE TO MARRY EARLY NEXT YEAR

Swagon papa, Funny Face, will soon go to the altar with his loving fiancée, Nana Adjoa.

One of Ghana’s finest comedians, Funny Face, born Benson Nana Yaw Boateng, told Times Weekend he had ‘chewed on’ for too long, so he would be ringing the wedding bells soon.

The young man, who began life from point ‘zero’, has now risen to a hero. The storm of poverty rode his life from the beginning, but has now turned into prosperity, and he is wishing to enjoy it to the fullest.

The O’Reilly Senior High School old boy has stood on numerous platforms entertaining large audiences, and now owns, in his words, “a fleet of cars”, aside from the one given him by Togolese footballer, Adebayor.

He told Times Weekend, he has now found his ‘missing’ Eve, and is going to tie the knot so that they may be called husband and wife.

“Early next year, I would be taking someone to the altar, so I can join the number of husbands in the country, masa ‘ekomade yen akye’. That day, I will fool myself, swaaag on.

“I know you are itching to know who this lucky woman is, she is Nana Adjoa”.

As usual, Funny Face could not say all these things without his comic relief. He said. “I want to tell all those who will be coming to my wedding to come with their own food. Who should cook for you, me or my wife-to-be? Please, come with your take away. Excuuuuuuuse me”.
