Actress Juliet Ibrahim Safo seems to be serious about her mission to conquer Ghana’s music scene and beyond.
Following in the footsteps of Genevieve Nnaji, Stella Damasus, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and the controversial Tonto Dikeh, Juliet has released a single titled ‘Celebration.’
The song features fast rising dancehall artiste Jupita and was produced by Sammie Blac. Juliet has promised to consider her music talent as a major priority and is working on three other singles with the ‘Bayla Boys’ (R2Bees) and Nana Ama McBrown.
Singing at family gatherings and at church at age six, Juliet’s Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Danielle Dialllo expressed her surprise when she first saw Juliet in a movie.
“Juliet has being singing since childhood and I understand the delay because she has a scale of preference; so for me, I’m not surprised at all,” Juliet’s mother revealed. On January 1, 2013, sexy Juliet was named among the top 10 influential female celebrities in Africa for the year 2012.
Being the only Ghanaian on the list, Juliet Ibrahim and Omotola Jalade (Nigerian) are the only actresses believed to have impacted positively on the society in 2012.
The year seems to have started well for the actress as she tweeted, “it’s just the beginning…” Barely a week ago, Juliet’s name popped up in the compilation of the Highest Paid and Influential Actresses in Ghana.
“The greatest joy of every celebrity is to be honoured therefore I thank God for this recognition and I dedicate it to my team for the hard work,” Juliet said. Presently, the Face of Ghana Movie 2011 is on set shooting her first production as the executive producer under her nickname; ‘Jewelz’ Production.

Nana Ama McBrown crash was murder plot
"News-One" has gathered from sources close to Nana Ama McBrown that the car crash which almost claimed her life last week could have been an assassination attempt possibly because of Maxwell, her reported lover boy.
“Nana Ama is very famous and has made so many enemies consciously or unconsciously. Maxwell is gradually growing in the industry and has made some many enemies. We believe strongly that some hit men were hired to take them out,” a source close to McBrown told News-One.
“Anybody can be a suspect for assassination attempt, even me. It could be an angry ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend trying to settle a score with them,” another source revealed to News-One.
Popular actress Nana Ama was in a black Range Rover with her lover Maxwell Mensah around 2am on the George Walker Bush Motorway, last Wednesday, heading towards their residence at Mallam, when the ill-fated incident happened.
Upon approaching the Lapaz traffic lights which were then blinking amber, a vehicle from nowhere rammed into their Range Rover. They were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital whilst unconscious and the actress was immediately whisked to the Intensive Care Unit.
Maxwell also suffered a fractured arm. News-One can confirm that Maxwell Mensah has dated several female celebrities in the industry, with sexy saucy singer Mzbel being one of his conquests. Though not proven beyond doubt, names like actress Vicky Zugah and singer Diamond have also been linked to him.
Nana Ama has also dated a few top shots in Ghana including Okyeame Kwame and Nana Wiafe Akenteng, a Chief. She was also linked to actor Omar Sherif but she has denied that link.
Publicist for Nana Ama McBrown, said the actress was currently on admission at the Yaa Asantewa War (F2) of the 37 Military Hospital and responding to treatment. She has a P.O.P on her right arm because she dislocated a bone on that arm.
Meanwhile, the Tesano Police says they are investigating circumstances that led to the near fatal accident involving the actress and her lover.
DSP Ernest Acheampong, the Tesano Divisional MTTU Commander, said because of the conflicting accounts of the incident by the persons involved, the police were conducting further investigations to ascertain the true cause of the accident.

Sarkodie is just a baby now - Tinny
For the numerous music lovers in the country and across the continent of Africa, Ghana’s fastest rapper and 2012 BET award winner, Sarkodie, is the best rapper in Ghana and it should take little for one to accept that for a fact after listening or seeing him perform.
Sarkodie’s colleague rapper, Nii Addo Quaynor popularly known as Tinny however cautions that Ghanaians should monitor the Tema based rapper for at least a decade before passing judgment on him as being the best in the country.
Speaking to Flexy on e.tv Ghana’s entertainment review programme, Talk Showbiz, Tinny mentioned that though Sarkodie is doing marvelously well in the music industry, he is still young.“When Sarkodie ‘chop’ ten years, then we see,” he said in pidgin English.
“He is a baby but he is doing well. Yeah. He is taking Ghana to some level but I can’t rate him with myself just like Jay Z and Lil Wayne. There is no way you can compare the two. Never,” he continued when asked to compare his performance to that of Sarkodie in recent times.
“I wouldn’t have to compare myself to Sarkodie. He does Twi, I am Ga, you know. Like a defender and a striker, they are two different positions.
Tinny who is currently working on his fifth studio album revealed that his father is no longer his manager as his record label; Kankpe Records is currently under his management.
On Glo's Endorsement
In recent times, fans of the hip-life artiste have hardly seen him perform at any of the major music events and according to him, his endorsement of Globacom is the basis.
“In some way it has (affected me) because people always say, ‘we don’t see you on stage as before’.
“Though you don’t see me on stage, you still hear my songs on the air. You might not be seeing me on stage but you can still get my video on YouTube and watch it.”
He promised to be bigger in the New Year stating that, “2013 is action year. It is the regular champion year. It has been quite some time now but the people should watch out for new Tinny all together.”
Sarkodie Denies Freemason Link
The family of popular Hip-Life rapper, Sarkodie, has denied reports in sections of the media to the effect that the artiste is a member of the Freemason society.Rumours have linked Ghana’s most popular rapper to the Freemasons, which is perceived by some as a secret group. But lawyer Moses Fo-Amoaning, who is the musician’s brother-in-law, said on Adom FM’s ‘Dea Mehunu’ programme on Monday, January 28, 2013, that the success of the artiste was largely due to the backing of his immediate family.Mr. Fo-Amoaning, who is married to Sarkodie’s elder sister Maame Adwoa, described him as a decent and hard working musician. The lawyer cum sports analyst believes the artiste will achieve more laurels in his music career if he continues to attach seriousness to his work.-ADOM NEWS
Kumasi Journalists Rush Into Acting
Ten top journalists including presenters and DJs from different media houses in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, have moved into acting since the year began and this has raised interesting questions on whether the movie industry is now more lucrative than being on radio.
Interestingly, all the journalists turned actors starred together in a soon-to-be-released movie, ‘Electricity Power’, produced by E&E Productions and directed by Jones Agyeman.
The lineup of journalists that played leading roles in the movie includes Mmrantee Hene from Otec FM, Nana Ampofo from Fox FM, Nowa King from New Mercury FM, Roman Fada, Dove FM, Eugene Moratt, also from New Mercury FM, DJ Cosby from Light FM and others whose names were not readily available.
They were cast alongside celebrated actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, seasoned actor Akrobotu and the Kumasi-based sensation Matilda Asare.
Also in the movie is Kumasi-based gospel artiste Lady Diana.
A source from the production team told NEWS-ONE that the movie, ‘Electricity Power’, was based on a true life story and exposed the rot making Ghanaians not enjoy constant electricity supply.
“‘Electricity Power’ is a true life story that talks about cheating in marriage, how your wedded wife can be flirting with your best friend and how a marriage can crash when you lose your job.
It was shot in both Ghana and Ivory Coast and actually some of the cast are from Ivory Coast,” Eugene Morrat, the producer, told NEWS-ONE.
Eugene Morrat has produced other good movies including ‘Ghana Police’, ‘Agya Koo In Libya’ and ‘Libya Akwan Tuo’.
Sometimes, I just provoke people to talk about me - Louiska
Boss Chic Lousika aka Christelle Akua Sika Amankona, the lady rapper, says the best way anyone can describe her is a rebel.
“If I had been born in a revolutionary era, I would have been a Black Panther, a hardcore, a Yaa Asantewaa of our time”, she told Showbiz last Saturday.
Lousika was chit-chatting about various subjects including her costumes and revealed that she is not bothered at all when people criticise her for wearing unusual clothes.”
In Europe nobody cares about what you wear”, she said. ”I have a French background and I know that most artists dress according to their cultural background, career and genre of music they represent”
Talking about where she gets her inspiration from and how she takes criticisms that come her way, she said that she is motivated by her fans, family and even those who hate her. “If I listen to people, I will not live my life because even if I change, some people will still not like me”.
According to Lousika, her creativity, adventurousness and imagination informs her about which costume is best for which event. Moreover, she likes to borrow costume concepts from her favourite foreign artistes and does not see the reason why people should have issues with what she wears if they, the foreigners see nothing wrong with what those artists wear.
“Sometimes too, I just want to provoke people to talk about me, to make me the center of attraction”. She made it clear however that she does not support nudity or any kind of indecency.
The 19 year old Boss Chic who claimed that she was not in any relationship, said that she simply did not have the time for any commitment although she had a crush on another artiste in the past. “But I like “crazy” people, people who are energetic, who have got swag and cited, Promzy of VIP, Edem and Sarkodie as examples of her kind of men.
Currently, Lousika said she has six songs, three released with videos, has collaborations going with Okyeame Kwame, 4x4, Sarkodie, Kwaw Kesse, Trigmatic and is looking forward to have one with Abrewanana and Obrafour.
In response to what she had for her fans, she said, “I encourage young people to have hope, dream big, push forward and never allow the words of people to bring them down”.
