TIC TAC DISAPPOINTED IN GRAPHIC SHOWBIZ, SAYS PAPER MISQUOTED HIM

Musician and entrepreneur, Tic Tac says he is disappointed about a recent Graphic Showbiz publication which has attributed quotes to him that he did not say.

Tic Tac, who is also the current Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Musicians Union of Ghana, has expressed shock about the publication in the October 19 edition of the respected newspaper and called it ‘a clear insult on the integrity of their readers’.

In a statement released by his label TN Records, he clears the air on his alleged condemnation of Azonto and Alkayida and says he has neither joined the Azonto and Alkayida trains nor condemned them.

“..For them to lie about him and attribute things he did not say to him, is a clear insult on the integrity of their readers.

“They quoted “I have joined the azonto train”, which are all fabrications,” the statement read.

Tic Tac is set to release the videos for his hot new singles, All over the world and Don’t let Your Baby Go.

His long awaited seventh album, titled Illusion, is expected to be released soon.

COURT BANS SHATTA FROM INSULTING CHARTER HOUSE

An Accra High Court has banned dancehall artiste Shatta Wale from attacking entertainment company Charter House in his music.
Shatta has been sued by the company for defamatory comments he made on four seperate videos he posted on social media site facebook.

Charter House was asking for GHS10,000,000 in damages.

Incidentally, after the suit was filed, the dance hall artiste released a single, mocking the entertainment company of being broke and hoping to make some bucks at his expense.

That appeared to have angered Charter House all the more, with the lawyers first asking the court to grant an injunction on Shatta Wale from making any further derogatory remarks against their client.

Sources close to the plaintiff told Myjoyonline.com, Shatta Wale later brought a letter requesting for an out of court settlement but they were hesitant to accept the request because they could not guarantee that Shatta Wale will desist from insulting them.

When the hearing opened Monday, Charles Mensah, father of Shatta Wale, again pleaded with the court to allow an out of court settlement.

The court is yet to rule on that plea.

The judge however granted the plaintiff's application for interlocutory injunction to stop Shatta from releasing insulting videos against Charter House.

The case has been adjourned to November 4, 2014.

A close source to the plaintiff told Joy News they will be considering the content of the out of court settlement before taking a decision.

MERCY JOHNSON’S LITTLE BABY NAMED 'HENRY'

Mercy Johnson and hubby Prince Odias Okojie have named their son 'Henry'.

On Wednesday, October 15, the Star actress gave birth to a baby boy at St Joseph Hospital, University of Maryland, Baltimore.

The baby boy is the 2nd child of Mercy and her husband, Prince Odias Okojie after their widely reported marriage in 2012 , which earlier produced a baby girl named ‎’Purity’.

Exclusive investigations conducted by NET reveals the couple have christened their new baby boy Henry Okojie.  The name Henry is influenced by Prince Okojie’s admiration for the famous ‘King Henry of England’.

BOYCOTT NEXT YEAR’S GHANA MUSIC AWARDS – KWAISEY PEE

Ghanaian highlife sensation, Kwaisey Pee, says he has a tall list of reservations against Charter House, organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and called on his colleague musicians to boycott next year's event.

"I know the next awards are next year but the truth is that we have to do something for the organis­ers to know that we are not happy with them. Over the years, they have not treated us fairly.

And this was what Shatta Wale was trying to say and has found himself in court. Even that, we should be showing him some solidarity but we are not showing him any support.

"I am not in support of the insults and the way he went about making his case but he was speaking for our interest. And we have to support him without necessarily agreeing with his style," Kwaisey Pee told NEWS-ONE.

When asked what his exact challenges with Char­ter House were, Kwaisey Pee said he has misgivings about the entire event right from the picking of nomi­nation forms, through to the shortlisting stages, the awards night itself and the aftermath.

"When I returned from London, I went to Charter House upon their invitation and my phone got missing while I was there. Till date, no one from the compa­ny has even called me to show concern.

I am not say­ing they should replace the phone but at least a phone to apologise would have shown some respect to me. And it is the same disdain they have for us all and we must do something.

I suggest we all decide to boycott the awards," Kwaisey Pee added.
For the last decade and a half, Charter House has received both criticisms and praises after each edition of the competitive music awards.

The company has however insisted it operates an open door policy and stakeholders with grievances or suggestions should make it known for a consensus to be reached through dialogue.

Meanwhile, lawyers for Shatta Wale are pleading with Charter House for an out of court settlement after the company dragged him to court over charges of defamation.

REJOINDER: I DID NOT SAY I WAS GOING INTO GOSPEL MUSIC – MZBEL

This is a rejoinder to a story written by Newsone newspaper and published by myjoyonline.com Date: 16-10-2014 with the headline ‘Sexy Mzbel returns to provocative dressing’.

In the story the writer did say that: ‘Celebrated Ghanaian songstress, Mzbel, over the weekend appeared at a public event dressed in an extremely provocative manner.

Mzbel's attire caused quite a stir at the National Theatre during the Ghana Television Awards last Friday, barely a year after she vowed never to appear dressed provocatively in public again.

The musician was 'dressed to kill' in a green figure hugging evening dress complete with a thigh high split that made her legs the focus of every eye.

She literally sparkled in the ground-sweeping dress which was dotted with diamonds and cut low in the bosom to advertise a better part of her breasts.

Interestingly, she was not in the least perturbed and was seen having a hearty chat and enjoying herself throughout the event.”

Mzbel wants to use this medium to let fans and followers know that the story as written by NewsOne is false and does not hold water.

In addressing the issue, Mzbel said; ‘first of all the dress I took to the Television awards Ghana was a matured dress. The fact that the dress was a thigh high split and had a cut curve that fits me does not mean I dressed shabbily. What is the writer’s definition of a matured dress, that dress is no way close to a provocative dress as speculated by the writer, she further on added.

Secondly, I have never said that I am going into gospel music. Mzbel disclosed that the fact that she shares motivational messages on her facebook page does not mean she is going to do gospel music.
‘I have addressed that issue of me going into gospel music on my return to active music on my facebook page before; my maturity will definitely show in my new songs when they are released therefore the writer should not worry too much about it, Mzbel noted.

She maintained that: ‘I am still a servant of God, I am not going back to my old brand and style as Mzbel but I am not going into gospel music’.

The singer in her concluding words said that, ‘Motherhood has really shaped me and it has taught me a lot of things; she wants her fans to know that her new singles are coming up soon and they will notice the difference.

X- DOE CAUTIONS SHATTA WALE ABOUT HIS ATTITUDE

Hiplife guru X-Doe has advised Shatta Wale to desist from the bad attitude he is portraying in public.

According to him, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., popularly known as Shatta Wale’s negative outlook in the public will someday divide his fan base and cause many people to lose interest in his type of music.

Speaking in an interview with Mark Okraku Mantey on the “E-Punch” show on Hitz Fm, the artist said his [Shata Wale’s] attitude could compel disk jockeys (DJs) to desist from playing his music because they might see him as a bad influence on people who love his music.

Citing his musical life as an example, X-Doe said despite the fact that his songs came with clean and meaningful lyrics, his rowdy personality drew people away from him and he lost many of his fans.

This, he said, dwindled his finances because most people stopped calling on him to perform at shows and other cooperate functions.

He said Shatta Wale should change his attitude or be ready to deal with the many image damaging issues which may arise from it.

NOLLYWOOD ACTOR CLEMS ONYEKA KILLED BY STRAY BULLET

Popular Nollywood actor Clems Onyeka has died.

He was struck by a stray bullet in Asaba Tuesday afternoon, October 14th.

According to eye-witnesses, robbers who robbed a bank along the Summit Express, were exchanging gun fire with police when Clems got hit by a stray bullet.

He was just 37 years old.
