“I WAS A SERIAL WOMANIZER”- MORRIS

One of Ghana's most talented sound engineers based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Moris D'Voice has said that he was a serial womanizer until he met Christ.

He said this during a program organized by Sky TV in Takoradi in the Western Region during their festive Gospel music jam last weekend. As the program was nearing its end, he called back the audience and displayed a little performance indicating where Satan took him to by singing to the audience worldly songs he composed and recorded.

In the confession, he said that there were some sinful deeds that he never committed when he was with Satan because he was trained and nurtured in a Christian home. “Sinful activities like taking in alcohol, was a taboo for me. Wee, cigarette and other demonic activities were something you could never see me doing. The only problem I had was womanizing. I used to womanize than a dog. It got to a time, I had to sleep with more than four ladies in a day and I thought I was the hottest guy in town; not knowing Satan was the one fooling me,” Morris De Voice narrated.

“My brothers and sisters, this continued until I came to possess demons that had sexual intercourse with me anytime I close my eyes to sleep. I stopped going to church. Then one day, God revealed Himself to me and coincidentally met with prophesy of a man of God who told me the same things I saw in my dreams. Even though I still doubted it, God continued to speak to me until I was deeply convinced that God was calling me,” he added.

At the moment, Morris says he is now a Christian and has accepted Jesus as his saviour. “I have left behind all the mess and I have promised myself I will never turn back. Now Jesus is ruling my heart”.

“My brothers and sisters, Jesus is coming soon. Let us give our lives to Christ before the judgment day takes us unawares. We need to remember one thing that, at the end of death, there will be judgment” he preached.

BIG SEAN & AKON LIVE GHANA ALONGSIDE SARKODIE

Two of America’s biggest music stars Big Sean and Akon will perform in Accra on November 23, enewsgh.com can say. Local Brewery giant Guinness Ghana Limited are putting it together.

The two will be joined in concert at the Accra Sports Stadium by local heads Sarkodie, Shatta, and Samini, as well as Nigerian wonder boy Wizkid.
The November 23 date is Big Sean’s first show in Ghana while Akon would be making his third major appearance.

25 year-old Sean Michael Anderson, known on stage as Big Sean, is a recording artist from Detroit, Michigan. He signed with Kanye West’s GOOD Music in 2007, and later with Def Jam in 2008.

After releasing a number of mixtapes, he released his debut album Finally Famous in 2011, followed by a second studio album Hall of Fame in August this year. 

I’M NOT DEAD - DADDY LUMBA

I’m not dead, I am alive by the special grace of God,” this was the response of Ghana’s finest high life musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba (DL), who was rumoured dead a few days ago in Kumasi.

In the early hours of Friday, November 1, 2013, the entire Garden City was thrown into a state of shock and disbelief when rumour mongers went to town with unconfirmed report that Lumba had died the previous night.

Soon, what started as a mere rumour gathered momentum as people could be seen in groups discussing the supposed demise of the respected musician. Indeed, what gave credence to the story was the fact that there had been earlier speculation across the country over the last few months that Daddy Lumba was very sick, hence his long absence from the entertainment scene.

However, Lumba lovers and admirers who were shocked by the sad news and were thrown into perpetual mourning heaved a huge sigh of relief later that morning when the award winning musician granted an interview to Roman Father on his ‘Sika Mmere’ program on SIKKA FM 89.5 to say that he was hale and hearty.

‘I don’t know why anybody would wish me dead. I am alive and kicking by the grace of God. Nothing is wrong with me. I want to tell all my fans in Kumasi that their favourite Lumba is still alive and well. It is God who gives life and He alone decides when anyone should leave the world. Thankfully, my time is not due yet so am still alive ’.

On why he thought anybody could come up with such a death rumour about him, Lumba said he had no idea saying ‘This is not the first time that I have been rumoured dead. It has happened several times. Indeed, Lumba has ‘died’ so many times. You see, am a very quiet and private person who is always at home. Maybe it’s my long absence from the public space which facilitates such rumours’.

Daddy Lumba finally thanked Roman Father for offering him the platform to interact with his fans and lovers and also hinted that his latest album will soon hit the market.

Daddy Lumba was born at Nsuta near Mampong in the Ashanti Region on September 29, 1964. In the early 1980s, he debuted on the highlife scene with his massive hit "Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu" with Nana Acheampong. He has been consistent with the release of multiple-hit albums since then and has established himself as one of Ghana's most popular singers of his genre, Highlife.

DAVIDO’S BODYGUARD STABBED AT A NIGHTCLUB IN LAGOS

On Sunday, news broke out that Davido‘s bodyguard was involved in a club fight.

Today his management has released a statement on the issue, wanting to “clear the air” on the falsified accounts of the incident which took place at the Grotto Club, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Full Statement From Davido’s Management

After a successful outing at a recent concert on Sunday November 3 at Eko Hotels, popular musician Davido headed to the Grotto Nightclub on Victoria Island. After a brief stay at the club, Davido and his crew proceeded to his vehicle outside to head home.

Upon entering the vehicle, he realized that his ATM card was missing. His bodyguard Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide better known as Teejay got down from the vehicle to search for the ATM card in the club. Upon alighting, he was accosted by an already drunk “DJ Jay Dee” who had in his hand a champagne flute. This DJ Jaydee informed Teejay that he had the ATM card in his hand and would like to personally deliver it to Davido. Teejay politely asked him to hand over the ATM card as it was clear that Davido was right in his view in his car. DJ Jaydee refused to hand over the card without payment and instead proceeded to shout that he knew who Davido was personally and that he (DJ Jaydee) was a known person in Lagos. Teejay refused him access to Davido which led DJ Jaydee to throw the ATM card on the ground in anger. As Teejay bent to retrieve the card, DJ Jaydee stabbed him in the neck with the champagne flute he was holding. An oblivious Teejay threw him off his back and proceeded to return the ATM card to Davido. As he was entering the car to leave, one of the occupants noticed the stab wounds and called his attention to the blood. Teejay promptly alighted from the car and went to confront DJ Jaydee who was still yelling outside. DJ Jaydee apparently not done with his violence stabbed the bodyguard a second time, this time on his hands and ran off into the club. Teejay searched for him to no avail and left the club soon after. Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide has since reported the matter to the police and they have been to the club to invite DJ Jaydee for questioning. Grotto has been unable to deliver DJ Jaydee to the police, instead malicious and falsified accounts of the incident have found their way on social media portals being championed of course by sources intent on casting vile aspersions on Davido and his bodyguard Teejay. DJ Jaydee is yet to surface. Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide has pressed charges to this effect. Davido’s management categorically refutes all the allegations of violence as insinuated by some. Teejay was carrying out his job by restricting access to Davido from an unknown and obviously inebriated and violent individual. He performed his duties as bodyguard and instead of resorting to violence, followed the dictates of the law. Members of the public and fans should please note that Davido was not present at this unfortunate incident that occurred that night as erroneously reported in a few quarters.

 

I AM WORRIED...MY BRAND IS NOT WELL KNOWN OUTSIDE GHANA - OKYEAME KWAME

Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame says he is worried his brand is not well known outside Ghana. To this end, he is projecting his brand across Africa through collaborations with established arts with similar brands as his. He has already finished the video on one of such collaborations with J. Martins from Nigeria.

Okyeame Kwame who granted KFM’s Kwame Scientific an interview on the “secrets of hit songs” revealed he is working on other collaborations with Kuli Chana from South Africa, Magic Systems from Ivory Coast among others.

For his take on what made a hit song, Bra Kwame observed that “Making a hit song involves creating a song people can relate to”. He says half of a good song is the production whilst the other half has to do with marketing.

He adds that the “music should match the persona of artiste and the artiste will have to be marketed along with his music”.

He also emphasized the need for customer satisfaction in ensuring an artiste remains a consistent success. He says musicians should handle radio presenters, newscasters, media critics and other industry players with respect in order to get their music out there.

He wants young musicians to get knowledge in music and get good managers in order to be successful.

The faithful man revealed to Kwame Scientific that though he usually expects his songs to become hits, he didn’t have that expectation for woara. All he cared about was doing a good song which posterity could remember him by.

 

I PRAY THE HOLY SPIRIT TOUCHES ME SOON - CASTRO

With the insurgence of many Ghanaian hiplife artists converting into Christianity and switching their musical gears to propagating the good word of the Holy Bible, Ghanaian born musician Theophilus Tagoe known widely as Castro Destroyer or Underfire has stated he prays the Holy Spirit touches him to venture into that arena.

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on the Kapital Entertainment Unplugged Show, Castro who is currently out with the number one hit high life single in Ghana Odo Pa, Castro disclosed although he is affiliated with popular female Gospel music group Tagoe sisters, he is no rush to do gospel songs although he prays the Holy touches him anytime soon.

Answering a question as to why he would not follow her aunties’ footsteps, he disclosed saying;

I think that is what God gave them and I know as time goes on, I will join them by all means. That is what I am praying for. I already have a Gospel song I’m working on.

Touching on the working relations with Asamoah Gyan, Castro disclosed Asamoah Gyan was more like a brother and that made it so easy for them to churn hit tracks anytime they recorded together.
